So I’ve come across the mystery ranch 7500, and would like to get some inputs on it if any has had it and to run my posts up because this place has all the gear I like buying. It would be my first nice ruck and I would use it solely until I get my money right, that means I’ll take it on a 10 mile overnight hike or a weeklong expedition at my friends land in Tennessee or even parts of the Appalachian trail along with hunting and fishing of any kind, know a do it all pack doesn’t exist but... Kifaru minikeg sizing

I have decided I am going to get a Kifaru Minikeg . This pack will be a daypack only. I plan to go elk hunting ,mule deer hunting , and moose hunting in the next few years. All of these hunts are guided, so carrying meat out will not be a problem. The question I have is about sizing. I have read that people with longer torsos may not want this particular pack. I am 64 years old and 5’11” with about a 38” waist. I have no idea how long a torso I have ,but let’s just go with average. Will... Read more ..read more

Looking around for ideas for a backpack that I could use for whitetail hunting. Ideally I would like to find a pack to use with my hang on stand (Novix Echo/Lone Wolf Alpha) and also be able to pack out game bags because I plan on gutless and deboning meat since I will be hiking in pretty deep on public land most of the time. Packs I'm looking at BUT open to suggestions, that's why I made this post. Kifaru - Stryker XL Mystery Ranch Popup 38 Myster Ranch Sawtooth 45 Thoughts... Read more ..read more

Silverton 2300 The Silverton 2300 ci Pack is designed as a lightweigth day hiking pack or a quick overnight minimalist backpacking pack. Perfect for past packing or quick overnight backpacking trips, the silverton blends durability, ultralight, and feature rich into a unique package. Hand made in Colorado seekoutside.com This pack came out in the last few days and I ordered one mainly to use on my revolution frame, but I am sure I will use it as a day pack and travel luggage. Looks like some good stretch pocket storage, the internal frame set is removable for when it is used on the revo ..read more

Hey everyone question for the group. Pretty new to backpacking. Started coyote this winter with a Eberlestock Gunslinger. Day trips walking from stand to stand. I have always wanted to get into backpacking camping and hunting so I am planning a 5-7 day elk hunt this fall. I will be going out for some day, 1-2 overnight trips over the summer as well. Anyway, I have a line on used K2 5500 pack with some extra goodies for decent price ($700 CAD). Comes with the larger hip belt (I am a big guy)... Read more ..read more

Hello, I'm hoping to get some advice on packs for backcountry hunts. Now, I have a badlands pack, but I don't see it as being great for hauling large amounts of meat out of the woods. What's a pack that's performed well for you have used in the backcountry that you've done a pack out with? I've read up on Kifaru packs and heard EXOs are good as well but hoping to hear what packs y'all might like Thank you ..read more

Kifaru cargo net as chair?

I am attempting to modify my Kifaru setup for next year's turkey season a bit. I switched from my normal vest with built in seat due to the amount of stuff I was carrying out. Kifaru bag solved the heavy load but wasn't the best for hauling the turkey decoys (solid Dave Smith, so not collapsible) and then also no chair. This led me to searching for a solution and came across the idea of using the cargo net to secure my decoys. While looking at that idea, there was a site advertising the... Read more ..read more
