Nexfibre - Rollout Discussion

This may prove to be of little interest to the majority but it's a chink of light at the end of a very dark tunnel for me and I thought this thread may be useful to track any potential Nexfibre rollouts. My story - System Error and Costs Stop Openreach FTTP Build in Shifnal Residents on a relatively new build homes development in the rural Shropshire (England) market town of Shifnal have been left confused after Openreach, which ha www.ispreview.co.uk For several years I've been backwards and forwards with Openreach regarding their deployment of FTTP to the remainder of our estate. Ideal cheap Android for Cellmapper

Hi all! I am currently deeply embedded into the Apple ecosystem, therefore have no device that is capable of Cellmapping and only has the basic net monitor to check bands etc. Im considering picking up a cheap Android which will support the required LTE and preferably 5G bands. Does not need a particularly fast processor, but would be great if it supports the latest Android release. Could be new or second hand as I will be continuing to use my iPhone 14 Pro Max as my primary phone. So... Read more ..read more

Over the years of working from a motorhome I've used pretty much every device you could think of including some satellite internet and the most reliable of all has been simple 3g/4g mobile broadband. But I find increasingly it's more difficult to get a decent signal as it once was. I'm still running a Huawei B310 which is totally reliable, and recently bought a Teltonika RUTX11 with the dome type antenna enclosure. Sadly the dome was faulty but the router proved to be no better than my B310... Read more ..read more

We're in rural Somerset and currently have Voneus (Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) network). When it's up speeds aren't bad (40Mbps up and down) but weekly there're slowdowns, drop outs and outages. Folks here in the village are fed up. According to Ofcom there are several possibilities like EE, Three, O2 and Vodafone. I've read here it's best to check coverage with my phone but wouldn't that require a sim for each carrier ..read more

Virgin Media New Locations

Hi, Just noticed a ton of works by Nextfibre being set to start next March in two nearby villages. Never thought they would install in either as wouldn't think they would be commercially viable. Neither are on the latest Nextfibre progress report so I'm hoping they extend to my village which is close by. Is there anyone I could contact to find out? Best regards ..read more
