Good day all, i’ve been struggling to come up with a design, color for my new windows, specifically what type of trim and color. The vinyl windows are white, so nothing I can do about that. This room on top of a garage is dedicated to music and the arts. There will be a mini stage just to come up and play music with some music and art on the walls. I have attached a few photos specifically of the ceiling and the floor which are already done. I can do whatever I want around these windows, but...

Hi all. Does anyone know of a commercially available BI-FOLD, inner spring, mattress for a full size futon? I know there are full-size, FOLDING, inner spring mattresses available but they are cumbersome to move and fit through a narrow entrance and also the section where they fold takes a beating in the seating position, which is MOST of the time.
There are a lot of TRI-FOLD mattresses readily available but they fold along the wrong direction for a futon frame.
I would be very satisfied...

Can anyone help me find a better layout for this awquard room as I keep trying but can’t get it right. I am happy to get different furniture if anyone has any magic suggestions. I would like it to feel cosy but at the moment it doesn’t, I’m also not convinced with the extra chair but my sofa is only 2 seater so when I have guests I do need the extra seating. It’s driving me mad, any ideas welcomed ..read more

I remember when recessed lighting became popular... or maybe I just started noticing it. I imagine that it became much more prevalent when LEDs started taking over. I always thought that it was one of the things that made a house "fancy." What do yall think of putting cans (old work) into bedrooms vs using a traditional lighted ceiling fan? Is there an instance where recessed lights are not good? I seems to me that they are the best for basically every room (except for where chandeliers...

So I was stupid enough to decide to strip the decades of paint and varnish from our handrail and bannister and hoped to take back to bare wood for clear briwax. Handrail went well all going to plan until mainly on the upright posts for the bannister the colouring is patchy and not uniform perhaps staining issue? I have attached photos and still have more sanding and scrubbing to go but is there anything I can do about the colouring? Do I need to rethink the plan ..read more

I want to get rid of the yellow and brown. The gray color is SW "Mindful Gray". It is very pretty. The yellow is a nice butternut squash color in the right light, but most of the time it is too yellow. Anyway... I think the stair risers would look nice if they were white. But the top riser is in the same plane as the rest of the wall, so that sort of dictates it should be gray. Should I do the stairs gray? Or make just the bottom white?
What about the...

This is a basement, with two large trays in the ceiling. That thing covered in cardboard to the left (picture #1) is an in-wall aquarium, which is meant to be the focal point. Three pictures attached, in order as you're walking in.
In the center of each tray is an electrical box for a light fixture. There will be wafer LEDs in the soffit.
Is the light fixture in picture #3 correctly positioned -- or would you rather have it centered on the fireplace (i.e., not centered...
