Piddling Around and Taking Care of Business

I’ve spent the last few days just piddling around the house. Of course, there is always some laundry to do, as well as other household chores.  The only problem is that I haven’t exactly wanted to do chores this week.  The weather is so pretty that I’d much rather sit outside on the patio! Jake has been super content to commandeer the recliner for the past week. He usually sleeps all day on the extra bedroom floor or on my bed, but he has wanted to be downstairs near me lately. Vacuuming is very inconvenient because I don’t want to freak him out, so I have to wait until he goes outs ..read more

It’s a Late Post

It’s a late post!  SO, I meant to post this on Wednesday, but life happened, and here we are!  I keep thinking each week that surely things will slow down a little and I’ll post more regularly, but nope!  It just gets crazier and crazier!  Ha! A Bust Well, Monday was a bust as far as getting anything accomplished.  I just have these days where it literally feels like I’m in a daze and can’t function.  Even the TV couldn’t hold my attention.  It was like I felt like I needed to be UP and doing something, but getting absolutely nothing accomplished.  My br ..read more

End Of Senior Year Begins

Happy Monday!  It’s been a beautiful weekend here, and it’s much needed after all the rain last week!  We stayed busy on Saturday, but Sunday was pretty calm, as it should be.  Here’s what we were up to this weekend! Senior Skit Saturday was Senior Skit Day for the Teen.  The senior students performed skits they made up at our local performing arts center.  The Teen did not want to be featured in any of the skits, so he chose to work the set.  I’ll be honest: hubby and I were not expecting too much because The Teen made it sound like the whole thing might be a di ..read more

Are We Tired of the Eclipse Yet?

Good Wednesday Morning!  It’s a rainy day here.  I’m starting to wonder if I should build an ark!  It’s been raining since Monday afternoon, with only small breaks in between the rains.  I  had to practically float home when I picked the Teen up from school yesterday.  Thankfully, most of the flood waters had drained off this morning, and I was able to get him to school without any issues.  More rain is on the way, but hopefully, we will start drying out tomorrow! Eclipse My goodness, this meme sums up what this eclipse talk has been like for the past couple ..read more

Wednesday Catch Up

Good Wednesday to you!  It’s time for me to play catch-up on the blog.  I meant to post sooner, but life happened, and here we are!  Haha!  But it’s been a busy past few days, and I’m just now getting to sit down and post. Checking on “Things” On Friday, I went to get my first mammogram.  The waiting room was very nice! I had been putting this off because of the “horror stories” I’ve heard, mostly from older female family members.  I’m sure they were kidding around, but the idea of putting “the girls” into a vice grip didn’t sound appealing.  Haha!  How ..read more

Heading into Easter Week

We are now into Easter Week!  A friend posted this on Facebook, and I thought it was a great little bit of Easter info: I finally dug my Easter Beanie Babies out with a week to spare!  I got these put up last week, but I just remembered to get a picture.  I used to have some bunny Beanie Babies, but I think I culled those from the collection.  Anyway, these are just as cute! On Friday, I had a morning appointment, and then hubby and I went to Wal-Mart to pick up the groceries. It was a rainy day, and I would have preferred to stay in and have these delivered, but since I ..read more

Better Sleep, Better Eats

We’ve had a busy couple of days. The Teen had to be ready at 8:00 AM on Tuesday to take the class picture, and it was just right outside our city limits, so we had a small drive.  It took about 30 minutes, and I can’t wait to see the final result!  I got him back to school and started my day, which was a little dusting downstairs. Hubby came home last night and cooked supper for us (hamburgers), which was greatly appreciated! Better Sleep I’ve been sleeping so much better at night.  I don’t know if the insulin is what’s helping me sleep better, but I’ll take it!  The o ..read more

Inflation Rant Incoming

Sorry for the inflation rant, but y’all…     On what planet am I living when four two-liter drinks cost $11??? Now, I know inflation has gotten bad—real bad. But I was just floored when I went to Dollar General to grab a few drinks, and this was my total! And that was even with saving fifty cents! HA! I remember when I was a newlywed and could buy these all day for about seventy-nine cents a piece.  You could really stock up when the holidays rolled around because they would mark them down to almost fifty cents.  Twelve-pack cans were two dollars.  The RC Cola twelve ..read more

Happy Spring Break week! Except for a few appointments, life is not very interesting here, so I’m afraid today’s post may be a little boring. I was just reading BillieJo’s post about not having much to blog about, and it really resonated! Haha! But I have some free time and felt the need to post. So, here we are! Some Pretty Things Yesterday, on my way to my infusion appointment, hubby and I were stopped at a red light next to the local university.  The tulips were in bloom and looked gorgeous, so I snapped a pic!  I have always meant to plant some around our yard and always forget ..read more
