18 Jumbo Joe vs Go-Anywhere
The Virtual Weber Bulletin Board

So I was gonna get a Jumbo Joe and then stumbled across the Go-Anywhere, I love the shape and design of the Go-Anywhere but I’m concerned it’s gonna be on the small size for me. Given the shape and size difference of each, is the extra space of Jumbo Joe useable space or not so much? My goal is to pretty much split the grill in half direct and indirect heat and be able to fit 4 burgers OR 3 ribeyes on Half of the grill any suggestions would be great. (Unfortunately I can’t find either... Read more ..read more

Will Costco repackage ribs?
The Virtual Weber Bulletin Board
by Dan Leighton

Looking to find a decent source of babyback ribs. I saw some at Costco last trip, but they were packed 3 racks to a package. Will Costco repackage them if you ask? I would buy two packages if they could wrap them as two racks per package. Three racks is way too much for two people over 65! Thanks. We used to get some great babybacks at Walmart from Salmon River Farms, but they are only available mail order at a very high price ..read more

Boneless Pork Shoulder
The Virtual Weber Bulletin Board

I am doing a pork shoulder tomorrow but I bought a 2 pack of the boneless ones. I tried the boneless version once before but found they did not work that well because of the large "flap" on top of the location above the bone was difficult to deal with. Thinking I am gonna tie it up. Anyone else done it like this? Results better ..read more

2011 S330

I bought my S330 new from Home Depot on 2011. It has lived outside in NC since that time, always covered when not in use. I have cleaned it when needed and have never replaced anything. I am wondering if I should replace the burners, flavor bars, heat deflectors, and grates etc. I see many after market parts with great reviews on Amazon. I have no issues , no rust inside, but the stainless could use a cleaning if possible. Is there a better place to but replacement parts other than Amazon... Read more ..read more

I’ve always wanted to try scotch eggs, but I’ve never seen them on a menu anywhere And while we do have deep frying capabilities here, it seemed like a lot of work But we DO have an air fryer! I found a recipe online and gave it a whirl Kind of a pain to assemble the whole thing, but very easy to cook in the air fryer! Very tasty and I will make these again ..read more

Bean with Bacon Soup.

Growing up as a kid on the south side of Chicago, Campbell's Soup was right across the tracks. I loved the B W B soup back then but they must have changed the recipe cause it just doesn't taste the same. This is a very close copy, and it's good ( if your a fan ) http://www.deepsouthdish.com/2011/01/bean-with-bacon-soup-recipe.html#axzz3ta7RHENF Edit: I should add that the stock is the key. I smoked two fresh ham hocks and used some leftover smoked neck bones and a rib tip. Tim ..read more

Holy cow, what aroma. What now?

I will apologize for the length of this post up front. History: I'm an 80 year old guy who has been smoking for.....maybe.....25 years. Still an amateur. I smoke maybe 2-3 times a year. Always happy with my cooks but I'm not giving up my day job, if I had one. I've smoked butts, ribs, chicken, sausage, bacon, jerkey, cheese, salmon, trout etc. I think and, the family thinks, I make great briskets. Anyway, I've always used Weber wood chunks, apple, cherry, pecan, hickory, etc. I've also used... Read more ..read more

New Guy from Indiana

I've been lurking here for a short time and seen some really neat stuff. Seems there is an interesting group of meat-heads here. I am nearly Fifty now and for the most part just been cooking on gas. I've done some smoking but not what I would consider experienced. I had a Masterbuilt electric smoker for a few years and it was enough to catch the bug. I really didn't like having to plug in to cook so I upgraded to a Camp Chef propane upright smoker for several years. Better results, but... Read more ..read more

Todays pork butt

I have some friends coming over today to help me move some heavy items so I figured I’d at least cook for them and send them home with some food. I started this at 5:35 this morning so we wouldn’t have to wait late into the day for it. It’s just under 9-1/2 lbs. I’m cooking it at 275 with no wind and it’s about 65f outside so I figure 6 maybe 7 hours buttttttt we shall see . I just love the smell of BBQ floating around my place. The breeze drafts right to my neighbors house so I know I’m... Read more ..read more
