Whiskey Business enjoyed having a deep dive into the comedy brain of Bill Arrundale, long time comedian and early podcaster before the medium exploded. We discussed the humble beginnings the influence of childhood, the revelations of parenthood and the fragility of relationships, which ALL can shape a comedian's mind and perspective on life and the craft of comedy. What you may ask is there to investigate after a suicide? The tragedy of the act is done. But there are questions and when it comes to the Who, the What, the Where and the WHY, Dallas Allen comes on the scene. On a podcast full of compassion and compelling revelations, Whiskey Business spoke with Dallas about the aftermath of a situation; talking with the families, uncovering the reasons, and in some cases finding out that things are not always as they seem. It’s a fascinating hour with an exceptional and passionate-about-his-work-guest that offers insight, education an ..read more

Whiskey Business closed out the year with a great podcast from a funny, wise, inspiring and insightful comedian. Sumukh Torgalkar joined us to talk comedy, life, work, parents, relationships, and the holidays. In the mix was obviously humor, but also insight and perspective on all the above, dosed with laughter and even a little wisdom. As we close out another year, we wish you and yours the gift of peace and perspective in 2025 with hopes that the New Year brings us ALL what we may individually and together to make it year to remember. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Dino, Greg, John ..read more

Whiskey Business kicked off the New Year with a new bourbon and a fairly new distillery to usher in 2024. Leather and Oak Spirits founded in 2019 out of Hilliard, Ohio joined the podcast as Steve Lambert and Dave Sheppard shared their journey with not only a fine bourbon but also a nice limoncello that the boys crank out with love and care. The bourbon was about as old school as you could get. 100% corn. The limoncello was about as old country as you could get as they eventually got the recipe from a lovely Italian woman who finally caved and allowed Steve and Dave to share it ..read more

This week on Whiskey Business it was just “the guys”as we realized 2024 brought “milestone” birthdays to each of us. Greg turned 40. Chip turned 60. John will be 60 in a few weeks and I turned (ahem) 65. The lively, funny and at times serious discussion ranged from where we’re at, where we’ve been and most importantly where are we going with the gas that’s still left in our life tanks. If you’ve got a big birthday coming or have had one, give a listen or watch and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! You’re not getting older, you’re getting better! Right? Right?! Ugh… Learn more about your ad choices. Visit mega ..read more

Whiskey Business has their annual Live Audience Halloween Podcast thanks to Echo Spirits in Grandview. Not only did the owners, Joe and Nikhil offer up a flight of Echo Spirits to taste, we also got a sneak 9 month peak of our own WHISKEY BUSINESS barrel which is still waiting to become bourbon. The night got more interesting when psychic, Cindy Riggs joined us. In addition to explaining what she does and how it works, she also demonstrated how remote viewing happens, where with just an address she could tell you if your home is “inhabited” by someone other than YOU. It was a fascinating night ..read more

Compared to Clark Donley, we here at Whiskey Business are truly the amateurs as we sat across the veteran broadcaster, Clark Donley. 40 plus years in the business that started as a disc jockey, led to sportscasting on television and then 30 more years doing the news on radio, Clark has reported it all with compassion and class and off the mic became an early force in developing Ohio’s Amber Alert program as well. As he embarks on what I consider a faux retirement, Clark has entered the podcast world with OFF THE RECORD: An FBI Agent's Perspective, a podcast detailing the behind the scenes stor ..read more

Two things happen this time of year on Whiskey Business. The Buckeyes start another season and to insure a winning one, Bill Demora (now Senator Demora) returns to his superstitious ways and returns to Whiskey Business. But this one is packed with more than just Buckeye Football. We caught Bill just after the Democratic Convention as well, and a lot of behind the scenes stories were revealed: the Biden Love, Back to Back Obama’s, The Beyoncé Bee Hive, and how much you could’ve scalped your ticket for on the last night of the convention. And yes, we did talk Buckeye Football before Billy lost h ..read more

Ahead of the first of Columbus Comedy Festival, we enjoy a respectable visit with comedian Nickey Winkelman. The conversation went from comedy to real life and the REAL life that’s in comedy. Asking, what's the art of finding ways to present life situations to a comedy crowd that may also be going through them but in a relatable, funny way? We also talked about the juggling of being a mom, doing comedy and holding down a regular job where she claims the title of “Respectable Co-worker.” Enjoy the ALWAYS respectable and ALWAYS funny, Nickey Winkelman on this latest edition of Whiskey Business D ..read more
