Hello all, This is probably a dumb question but I need to ask and I’m looking to learn something… While I enjoy cigars, I’m certainly not knowledgeable. I’ve been trying to track down some Cuban Hoyo De Monterrey Palmas Extra. I remember buying boxes of them 10 years ago because they’ve always been my favorite. I went into a local tobacconist shop asking for them, of which the attendant had never heard of any. But she proceeded to show me Epicure No 1. Somebody just asked me this the other day and while I had considered it in the past - I started thinking about it again. Are there brands of cigars who use more pesticides or other chemicals in the production of their tobacco, than others? Is there such a thing as an 'organic' cigar which is produced with minimal application of modern chemicals, etc? Hi, guys, Just wondering what people know about the legality of cigar lounges and what other cities in Canada have one. There is a cigar lounge on the Enoch reserve just outside of Edmonton and I go there about once a month. They advertise on their website that they are the only cigar lounge in Alberta. They are only able to achieve this status because they operate on a reserve and the laws are different on the reserve than in other towns or cities. I've been reading about the "sick" period cigars go through, and about ammonia etc.   Can anyone describe the taste or smell? To be frank, I've never smelled or tasted ammonia to my knowledge    I ask because a cigar I smoked last night had a very peculiar and prominent sour, acidic almost wine-y smell. Hi guys! I am wondering what people know about how to predict the kinds of flavours that are going to come in a cigar.  Lately I have been trying to find sweeter cigars because I had a really sweet one which was a Macanudo Inspirado Broadleaf and enjoyed it a lot.  I was told by someone that Maduros sometimes are sweeter so I have been buying some Maduros hoping I will find that sweetness again but no luck.  Is there any way to predict what flavours might come with a cigar bases on brand, colour, etc.?  Not just mild/medium/full but also sweetness, different flavours like f ..read more
