Quite confused about “sand hollow” need some help from people who have been there

I’m planning on going to the sand hollow area to off-road and camp. What I’m confused about, is Sand hollow state park, appears to only be the area around the lake. As shown on my map, the highlighted border shows the state parks boundaries. I have no interest in this, the actual off-roading appears to be a place called sand mountain, a seperate entity from the state park. Does this mean I do not need to pay to off-road and camp in this area, it says it’s... Quite confused about “sand hollow” need some help from people who have been there ..read more

Picked up the 14" with side burner to try on this weeks trip through the Ozark National Forest. The side burner will fit about a 9" pan, our smallest cast iron and hiking pots fit perfectly on it. Normally I pack either the 17" Adventure Ready Blackstone or a Coleman 2 burner stove, hoping this new one gives me the best of both worlds ..read more

Can you use 1IB propane bottles at an upright position?

I’ve heard somewhere that you cannot use 1IB propane bottles upright, and that they need to be at a 45 degree angle. Is this actually true? It seems silly considering every other propane tank is used upright. I just ask because I want to replace the stiff metal propane adapter with a flexible hose so I can have more room on my tailgate table when using the stove ..read more

Hello All! I want to outfit my 2016 Wrangler for overlanding. This is what I'm currently working with: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4D Backcountry Trim. It has a rough country lift on it with premium shocks... it has a light bar, ditch lights, and a winch. It's basically a Mall Jeep (no hate). I'd like to upgrade to a better suspension for overlanding long distances and also a better battery. I'll be adding some weight to it. Roof top tent, awning, portable fridge, and other gear. But there... Overlanding Prep on 2016 Wrangler ..read more

I've only ever camped in snow that is already on the ground, never in an actual snow fall, its supposed to snow anywhere from 3 inches to 18 inches in Stanislaus NF this weekend, I have camped in extremely cold scenarios so its not the cold that would bother me, just wondering if its a horrible idea to go up this weekend ..read more

Solar Panels on Freedom Panels

The majority of the miles put on our Wrangler Sport are for camping. We carry a 12V chest fridge/freezer in the back for extended trips. It has a low voltage shut-off that worked as intended to prevent running the Jeep battery down too far, but also had the potential to leave our supplies at above food safe temperature when it shuts down due to a low battery. My solution was to add 100W's of solar to the roof and feed the fridge from a separate 100ah LiFePO4 battery. It's been working well... Solar Panels on Freedom Panels ..read more

Cargo slide recommendation to use on DIY plywood platform?

I have a 4 door Wrangler (JKU). It currently has a 3/4" plywood platform bolted down. I have the ARB 50qt fridge with quick release tie downs. I'm now wanting to get a cargo slide for the other side so I can stack in boxes (maybe frontrunner type) and pull them out. I also want a good solution for a water storage container. The fridge works fine without a slide, but if I ever add a cargo rack above it, I'll need one too. Here's what I'm working with. It looks like I could go up to 24" wide... cargo slide recommendation to use on DIY plywood platform ..read more
