We caught up with Pieta Aitken – a practitioner who has recently completed the return to practice programme and her supervisor Jessie Snowdon to talk about the programme and what it’s like to participate in. Returning after a long period away from the profession can be daunting and Pieta says it took her a few years to take the plunge. “Had I not had the support I have received, I may not be practising once again. The Board welcomes our newest specialist, Jo Kennedy. Jo is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with a particular focus on spinal injury and treatment. The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has released its decision regarding the charges brought by a professional conduct committee (PCC) against physiotherapist Justin Marc Scott for sexual misconduct and inadequate/inappropriate communication. The charges related to two patient complaints; the first involving inappropriate touching and, the second involving inappropriate communication. The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has released its decision regarding the charges brought by a professional conduct committee (PCC) against physiotherapist Lance Easton for professional misconduct. The charge related to services delivered while suspended, insufficient record keeping, treatment without requisite training, and failure to comply with general standards of care.
