We just got off a very short cruise and wanted to share our experiences with both the ship and the port.
We flew Southwest the night before (Thursday) and stayed at the Best Western about 10ish minutes from the airport (FLL). The room was about $120 after taxes and fees with an additional $25 deposit. The hotel offered a free shuttle from the airport and a shuttle to the cruise port for $15 per person. No mini-golf, water slides, flow rider... What is there to do on our 5 sea days? They have already stated that they didn't want to spend all their time at the kids club.  ..read more

Has anyone attempted this before? I realize how risky it is, especially given all of the moving parts it would take just to get to Orlando before the hour ride from Orlando to the port. But is it possible?
Obviously, the first obstacle is getting off the ship first thing in the morning. Previous research has lead me to believe it’s possible to be off and clear of customs by 7:3 ..read more

Found this site very helpful for us, so wanted to pass along my thoughts/experiences in case it helps anyone in the booking/research process!
Family of 4 (2 adults, 15 year old son, 11 year old son).
My husband and I cruised once back in 2004, but that was on NCL and soooo long ago I'd consider us all first timers haha.
Sailed out of Cape Liberty with stops at Port Canaveral, Nassau, Coco Cay.
CAPE LIBERTY- I was excited about the embarkation process because I had heard so many good things about this port. Maybe I was confused but what is the point of a check in time??? I stayed up until midni ..read more
