Hi everyone, I moved to Wyoming back in 2019 and nearly exclusively hunt Archery Elk. I've hunted some areas in SE Wyoming but have been deep diving into many general elk units and finding a ton of great potential areas that are within grizzly country. Unfortunately I don't have a hunting buddy and have been considering the option of hunting some of these units solo (specifically general units 81-82-83), which seem to have some wolf activity as well. I like to bivy hunt with camp on my back... Hunting Grizzly Country solo? (Archery Elk Wyoming ..read more

My son shot his first elk in Wyoming on Monday. We have been purchasing PPs since he was 12, and the plan has been that we would go hunting after he graduated college. This trip exceeded all of my expectations, we had great weather and met some really nice people. Driving back across the country with my son and his 6x6 in the back felt... Hey guys, just wondering what your thoughts are on wildfires from the stand point of regrowth coming back and how many years after a wildfire goes thru an area where there just isnt good green feed etc for animals. Is it the next spring right away or is 2 or 3 years better or more than that? Looking at a western elk hunt this fall and debating on whether an area that had a fire a couple years ago could be good or terrible or possibly really good. Hope this makes snese. Thanks, Luke ..read more
