Going to Idaho with my dad for our first archery elk hunt in September. He has recently had open heart surgery and is currently recovering well. We have both been training multiple days a week in the gym to prepare. We are using this trip as something to look forward to in rebuilding his abilities. Went with my buddies on a cow elk hunt in unit 61 of Wyoming last month. This was my third trip on this hunt. As usual with late season hunting it was tough. We had everything from snow storms to 70 mph winds. I honestly have never seen wind know so hard and constant. Add that to most of the area being wide open country the hunt wasn't a cake walk.
