Anger, Frustration & ADHD I first joined this group 8 years ago, searching for answers about why my relationship with my husband was so confusing, painful, and complicated. I found this group to be a lovely resource, but it still didn't feel like it fully explained what was going on with my marriage. A year after I joined this site, I packed up my children and left my husband. A year after that (he had vowed he had changed), we got back together and had another baby. Three years after that, I realized my heart was too broken, noth ..read more

Submitted by BurnedOutLady on 04/11/2024. Anger, Frustration & ADHD I have posted here before. And here I am again. On the merry go round. The roller coaster. Actually I am sitting on my toilet too tired to get up and go lie on the bed and type this. Sorry if that is TMI. I have just ended a totally exhausting few days with ADHD H. We live and work together. We are 100% enmeshed. 13 years now. And I do not see any possible way of ending this, or really of changing it. There are moments when it is a little better. Some leveling out. But whenever there is some kind of big event we must ..read more

Anger, Frustration & ADHD Alright, this is going to be a bit of a ramble, but, painting the picture. husband and wife 38/37 - 4 kids (10 (also ADHd), 8, 5, 1) - ADHD wife So, I'm at a little bit of a loss here. My wife was diagnosed about 2 years w/ ADHD which was no surprise to either of us. It was a "yeah, that makes sense" type of diagnosis.    jumping right in; the rage and anger are absolutely out of control. She's tried a few meds, vyvanse worked for a while, then became too expensive, so about a month ago doc presc ..read more

Submitted by nonadhdwife889 on 03/27/2024. Anger, Frustration & ADHD I'm new and have a question here for anyone who's thought about this. I'd be really grateful to know what conclusion you came to and what your thought process was. I'm a non adhd spouse and we have three young children. My husband was recently diagnosed and has tried medication, which helped but didn't magically resolve everything, but has recently been stopped due to medication shortages. He's just started seeing a therapist who specialises in adhd. I will say it took him ..read more

Submitted by Tired girl on 03/27/2024. Anger, Frustration & ADHD We've been married for 30+ yrs. Husband was diagnosed when he was 50, but we struggled long before that. He takes meds, goes to therapy and says he spends "so much time" working on his ADHD. We've gone to couples therapy and taken Melissa's class twice. I've gone to therapy multiple times as well. Despite all this, to me it feels like his ADHD is untreated. I've tried to help him with docs and treatment but he needs to help himself.  He suffers from severe RSD, which I think is the root of so much of what ..read more

Financially stable, career stable, a little impulsive, but very internally hyperactive. Only been married a short time. I'm in my third ADHD and relationships book. 2 by Orlov. I've read all of them. She will not. It's a me problem, not an us problem.  I'm tired of the backhanded or just out right derogatory comments. The, and I quote "Let me tell you why you're wrong. Submitted by HelpWanted2022 on 03/25/2024. Anger, Frustration & ADHD I've been with my boyfriend over a decade now. We found out he has ADHD a few years ago but he doesnt like taking the drugs for it. He said they made his heart race and he didn't like it.  The problem at the moment is that we are getting older and I want to buy a house and start a family soon. We are getting married as well and I thought that would be the start of a bit of a chain that would get us into a settled family life. For years now one of his big ADHD traits has been impulsiveness without actio ..read more
