It should be noted that TEVA manufactures both Generic and Brand forms of Adderall IR, having acquired the rights when they acquired BARR, which itself bought the rights from Shire PLC (now Takeda). The brand and generic forms were actually pretty similar for a number of years, following the acquisition; but the generic has in my opinion degraded over the course of the last two years. I live in Arizona near Phoenix, and it seems very hard to find a pharmacy that carries Teva in my area. I get serious side effects from some of the generics such as suicidal thoughts, which I informed my doctor, who, to be honest, seems completely indifferent. His not my psychiatrist since I don’t have one here, he’s a family physician, but still, he’s the one, who writes the prescriptions. …to be more specific, the generic made by Barr prior to the transfer of rights for the name brand was probably even worse than it is today. After the sale (around 2013?) it seemed to improve dramatically. I know this because I switched back and forth (between generic and NB) a number of times and because, following the sale, the name brand was made by the same company that also seems to distribute to just about every pharmacy in the area — meaning: whenever I switched between name brand and generic, it was always to a Teva/Barr product. Hi. Some thoughts (if you haven’t given up on this slow forum yet): 1) In my experience, no medication helps me get started on boring/unpleasant stuff. It was true for Ritalin/Concerta, it’s true for Strattera, and would probably be true for amphetamine-based meds as well were I to try them. (I’m happy with Strattera though.) It only helps me stay focused on the task once started, i.e., not lose track halfway through and forget or fall asleep. I’ve been on Focalin XR 10MG for about three weeks now. I take it when I wake up at 6AM, 45 mins-1HR later, very nice humming/warm buzz, hyper focused on whatever interest me at the moment. I work from home, alone after 8AM until 2:45 PM when the youngest comes home from school. I am on the other end of the spectrum somewhat. I am on Focalin XR 10MG currently, it reminds me of my self medication/rave daze playing around with Ecstasy. Super aroused emotionally/internally, but no real desire to physically act upon it. Very odd to describe, but the previous times (illicit drug use 20 years ago) I did become intimate, it was a very strange orgasm, best described as not as physically fulfilling as when sober.
