What are your experiences with Starline rifle brass? I've used their handgun brass to loads many, many thousands of rounds. I just ordered a 250 pack of 7mm-08 Rem a few days ago. It was priced very fairly, $129 with free shipping. Anything to look out for with their rifle brass ..read more

Does anyone have any experience with VV N150? It's supposed to be the most temperature stable of the VV rifle powders. It gives the second highest velocity in the 7mm-08 just behind VV N540. The 540 is a "high energy" powder. They use a nitro glycerin addition to get the extra energy. That comes at the cost of a much hotter flame and greatly reduced barrel life. Cases longer than 2.015" I trimmed back. 1--i assume the shorter cases are still safe to fire as they have already been fired. Using the Hornady OAL gauge I am making contact... Ok. I'm loading 30-06 using new brass all within spec. 180gr jacketed soft point over h4350. Here's where I am sure I screwed up, set the oal. To match my grandfather's reloads that shot ok. I set it at 3.18, I used a new Winchester bonded that shot ok as a base line gauge setting and fine tuned from there. Now I looked at the load chart and it says 3.30 min. Oal. Do I have to pull bullets as I think this is unsafe pressure. Forgot 51 grains of powder ..read more
