Loading for SFAR, does anyone have any pointers beyond this.

I picked up a 20" SFAR on Monday because of its light weight. I took it out to the range on Thursday with some of the loads that work just fine in my 16" Armilite. Some ran fine, some not so fine, the hunting loads ripped the case rims off. With the gas setting at 2 the 125 jhp's loaded with 45 of IMR 3031 and 45.5 grains of Shooters World AR ran well and gave me almost 200 fps better velocities than the 16" barrel of the Armilite. The 150 fmj also ran well with 47 grains of BL-C2 gave... Loading for SFAR, does anyone have any pointers beyond this ..read more

A LGS has 4lbs of Accurate LCM powder for $26 a lb. Seems like a great price considering how powder prices has sky rocketed. Looking at a burning rate chart it appears to be almost identical to 2400 powder. It's just sitting there. I'm considering buying it , so was wondering if any one has any experience with this powder ..read more

I can't do much right now because of stuff so I've taken my time off from work and tried to be useful with it. Over the course of the last two days I've cleaned, sized, swagged, primed and chamfered (570) 223 Remington cases on top of the (100) 35 Remington cases I cleaned, sized, flared and primed ..read more

New Life Hack 45acp small primers..??

Well the weather wasn't great the past couple of days, and I recently processed 1300 rounds of 45acp. Out of that I had maybe 10 that had small primers. As all of us know how annoying it can be to have mixed 45 acp's with large and small primers, ( the 13% of us that reload) I had an light bulb go off in my brain. So what I did was, I have small and large primer pocket swaggers, and uniformers for cutting crimp rings on nato brass. What if I took one of those small primers 45 acp... .38 Super in .357 revolvers?

Looking at the specs for the .38 Super cartridge, with a semi-rimmed case head diameter of .404 in....they should fit my GP 100 357 chamber. the 357 case head is spec'd at .440". The bullet, at what seems to be a standard 9mm, at .356", should engrave properly in my .3567" bore diameter. Am I overlooking something, or would the .38 Super be a last-ditch alternative for 357 magnum guns ..read more

H110 Load - Don't Go Below 3% Off Max Corrected We've all heard that H110 should never, ever be downloaded below 97% of max listed loads or the world will end. I've read it in countless journals and sites all over the internet. Funny thing though is Hodgdon doesn't share our concern. You know, the Hodgdon that makes the powder. The Hodgdon who's financially liable for faulty reloading data. Yes, that Hodgdon. Consider the Hodgdon Reloading On-line Data for both 357mag and 30...
