Hello everyone, I am experiencing a problem far too unique to even attempt googling this. I have a PC from around the early to mid 2000s that I've started messing around with, and I changed this CD-Rom drive with a DVD drive. Once i closed everything back up and booted up the system...I got a beep code, 1 long, 8 short. I googled this, and it appears to be a video card error. The hard drive spins up, I can hear the speakers for a second, ethernet lights and activity lights are on, but no fan... Read more ..read more

I have an SSD that I exclusively use for sound libraries. When working with music, every now and then the hard drive goes to sleep, and many times when I hit play in the software, I have to wait for the hard drive to wake up, before the music plays. How can I prevent this? I have found some help/suggestions via Google, and I have tried the following, but it is not getting any better. The problem is still there. - -... Read more ..read more

Hi, I have recently begun to encounter this issue where after playing games for around an hour, both my monitors will suddenly turn black and lose signal, but the PC still seems to be running, but I must reset (hold down the power button) to get the monitors to working again. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I have already tried cleaning my PC, reinstalling the video drivers and messing with the power options. I have also heard it's possibly related to a malfunctioning PSU, but I'm... Read more ..read more

Hello everyone. I'm Desmond, I'm new, I've never got into the specs about computers. So I have a question. Somehow the optiplex 3000 sff is windows 11 compatible, but not my optiplex 3010 sff? I have 500gb, then I realized I can't upgrade my intel i3 cpu for the i7 because it's still not gonna work with windows 11. Then I wanted to swap motherboards with a newer motherboard, realizing that's not gonna work neither because of the case infrastructure along with its adapters not being... Read more ..read more

Hey, so I forgot to turn off my Laptop (HP Pavilion 15-eg0355ng) overnight and it completely discharged the battery. That happened before but I could just plug the AC adapter in, let it charge for a minute and then just turn it on normaly. This time that didn't work. when I connected the AC adapter the charge-indicator LED didn't turn red as usual, when I tried turning it on that same LED blinked white 3 times. I searched for that online and found that thats probably a really dead battery... Read more ..read more

Cyberpowerpc buzzing/grinding fan noise
PC Help Forum » Internal Hardware
by Rizinski

All specs from out of box, problem started immediately after purchase. Noise comes and goes but is always not there at all or full volume and seems to have little or no relation to exertion of pc at that moment. Happens indefinitely while idling sometimes. Do I just need to tighten or loosen something? Is this just what this kind of pc sounds like? Other reviews says it is quiet so I am doubting that. Thank you for any help, not much experience working inside pcs at all, and none with this... Read more ..read more
