Applied to Typhoon FGR4 ZJ913, the scheme represents a Hawker Typhoon of 257 Squadron during June 1944 complete with invasion strips on the fuselage and wings. 257 Squadron was part of the 2nd Tactical Air Force flying fighter-bomber missions as part of 146 Wing. Captain Petteri Kairinen Captain Petteri Kairinen of Fighter Squadron 31 is the F/A-18C Hornet Display Pilot of the Finnish Air Force in 2024. Kairisen has ten years of experience flying the F/A-18 Hornet fighter and a thousand flight hours. This year, the alternate performance pilot is captain Paulus Kärnä from Lapland aviation. The first display for this summer’s Airshow has been revealed as the iconic RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, due to bring an Avro Lancaster and two Hawker Hurricanes for both days of the event.
