My 7th great grandfather William Cooke 1626-1677 East Sutton Kent. When looking at hints on ancestry some people have William Cook as the 2nd Baronet of Broome Hall. so I started searching thiking the nearest one to Kent isone in Surrey that once belonged to Oliver Reed but that was built too late to have any connection. I have found a reference in St Marys Church Cranford Norfolk to a William Cooke 2nd baronet of Broome hallimage.pngI have tried googling to see if I can find any more information but not finding anything that woould give me any clues that he was connected to my tree ..read more

Just back from a vacation to Yorkshire where we visited ancient family sites and renewed our interest in researching the Wilson line in the 16 and 1700s. They lived in Leeds and York and the surrounding area. Should I renew Ancestry or go to FindMyPast for very ancient records in the Yorkshire area. We had fun in the archives of York University. Very helpful fellow there. We found two wills from 1688 and 1710. Very confusing relationships. How could Richard have a brother Richard. We eventually decided that he was referring to his son's father-in-law. Thanks for your opinions ..read more

I am 80 years old and have suffered amnesia as far back as I can remember. I have always been a Greek Mythology fanatic. I am trying to draw up a family tree starting with Chaos and Gaea, the very beginning as far a Hesiod is concerned. The tree involves many unions between brother-sister, mother-son, father-daughter, gods-humans, etc. FTM2017 fails me as it will not accept these unusual pairings. I don't want the name Zeus to appear twenty times while referring to the same entity. Can anyone recommend a FTM software that would solve my problem? A quick read-through Zeus on Wikipedia alone wil ..read more
