We conclude chapter 9 of the Book of John. We are still in the story of the man who was born blind that Jesus gave sight to. Because the formerly blind man would not lie about who healed him and because he exposed the Pharisees' hypocrisy, they excommunicated him from the Jewish Synagogue. In this episode, we start chapter nine of the Book of John.  Jesus gives a man who was blind from birth his sight. As usual, the Pharisees are upset because Jesus heals a man on the Sabbath.  Can you image that: being upset with someone for healing someone.  Then they try to intimidate the healed man and his family to get him to change his story about who healed him. In this episode, we  finish chapter 8 of the Book of John.  We look at verses 46-59.  Jesus is still in the Temple's court area responding to the Pharisees' challenge to who He is and His authority. When Jesus challenges the Pharisees to point to any sin He has committed and they can't, because Jesus is sinless, so they start to insult Jesus. They called Him a "Samaritan" which was the lowest of insults because the Jews despised them as corrupt, half-breeds. In this episode, we look at John 7:14-26. Jesus goes to the Feast of Tabernacle or Booths. While there He teaches in the Jewish Temple. As usual, the people are amazed at His wisdom and knowledge--despite not going to a religious school. Jesus knowing their thoughts tells them that His knowledge comes from God the Father who sent Him to the Earth.  Jesus also discloses to the crowd the Jewish leaders' plot to kill Him because He violated one of their man-made laws by healing a man on the Sabbath.
