What do you think about putting a 12v heating element in stock tanks and hooking to a solar panel directly?
Anyone done this before that will share their experiences?
I know it has been done out west and there is a Missouri company selling elements and panels to diy a system. I have a remote barn with no electricity ($18k is what the power company wants to put in a line and meter)
If I put in a 300w element but only put 1 100w panel will it still produce heat ..read more

I have started to finish 3 cows to get them ready for processing.
They have been grass fed their whole life so, I am now adding corn to their diet to start adding some marbling and weight.
They have been in this process for about a week now. This is where I feel there is a problem.
They have all the corn, hay, minerals and water they want but, they seem to be losing weight.
I also noticed some diarrhea with their rumps staying dirty.
Any advice and information would be...

I'm not trying to go too far down the rabbit hole here with the full background, but long story short my uncle runs about 100 head of cows. He runs short on hay and that limits the number they keep around. We've talked a little back and forth about me supplying them some round bales, cleaning up some of my 1st cutting alfalfa (less desirable to the horse ladies) for his cows. Also I'm semi short on storage for small squares so the idea of saving some space for later higher quality...

Friends,
I know that there USED to be a forum dedicated to riding cattle. I haven't gone there for awhile. I lost the address and don't remember the name.
My best google-fu is not getting me anywhere.
Does anyone know the address of this forum?
Thank you.
