The idyllic modern eco lodges at Whispering Waters are nestled right beside the River Tees at Gainford, near Barnard Castle in Teesdale
Review of the lodges with hot tubs at Whispering Waters in Gainford, Teesdale
I've visited the lodges at Whispering Waters in Gainford twice now and that goes some way to show what I think of the place. I'm always on the lookout for some great places to stay and when I first discovered these lodges I just had to give them a visit as they are something a little different from the typical lodges with hot tubs. Cow Close Gill Waterfall or Middle Falls - One of my favourite Yorkshire Waterfalls. Read on to learn where it is...
One of Yorkshires best waterfalls - Cow Close Gill Waterfall or 'Middle Falls'
This stunning waterfall actually has no name - quite surprising about considering how picturesque it is. On google maps it's referred to as Middle Falls, and elsewhere it's referred too as Cow Close Gill Falls as its on Cow Close Gill. Not many people have heard of it compared to the more well-known waterfalls in Yorkshire, and you won't see many photos of it as it's a little off the ..read more

Glimmers are those micro moments of goodness in our lives
Glimmers - those micro moments of goodness in our lives
Have you come across the concept of ‘Glimmers’? It’s a concept I've only just come across, and a bit of a game changer in being able to alter our perspective on life. 'Glimmers' are the micro-moments of goodness in our lives - and the recognition of these moments and being grateful for them can lift our day and make us happier.
We might think happiness is a constant state to aim for (but this will cause dissatisfaction at the frustration of not being happy all the time ..read more

Those epic landscape views can't help but install a feeling of awe in us, which has many benefits to our well-being, happiness and health.
I love the outdoors, I think that’s pretty obvious if you follow my stuff, such as this blog or my social channels haha. I can’t get enough of it - and whenever I can I’ll get outside, whether it’s a local walk by the coast, in a park or woodland. When I have more time, I’ll take off on a road-trip or wild camp to places further afield - often to places close to where I live in Northern England, such as The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Northu ..read more

Hiring a campervan in the Lake District brings with it a new level of freedom to go anywhere!
Campervan trip in the Lake District
The Lake District is one of my favourite places in the world and when I usually stay here it's either wild camping or staying in a b&b or hotel. It's a dream of mine to have my own Campervan one day, and tour the lakes whenever the mood takes me. So I thought I'd do the next best thing and rent a campervan for a long weekend in the Lake District.
The downside about hiring a camerpervan and touring the lakes is that the National Park aut ..read more
