I have been planning a 4x2x4 enclosure for my new beardie and was thinking that since they are native to arid and semi-arid scrub and grasslands maybe using ornamental grasses like pampas grass or similar in patches. Has anyone tried this? Is it safe? I was also wanting to do a "fence post" basking spot for him to climb up since they are found basking on fence posts. Does anyone have any suggestions for a safe wood? I was thinking cork bark, but it's kind of pricy for the 3 or 4 foot... Read more ..read more

I threw away 5 gallon size storage bags full of my bioactive substrate. With adding in planted leafy greens over time, built it up too much and I was tired of all, falling out of the front of the tank. I did pick one leaf at a time to save them and those and some bark pieces are freezing for a few days. I took two small bowls of deep soil with the dwarf whites and added them to my planting soil. Now I just need to remember to keep it moist! from this to this. And more will... Read more ..read more

She does come out to run off and on too, she is just wearing us out so... She is also squeezing out pee when she is getting mad, she has gone 4 times in there today so far.... Peaches got some new plants to trash! From this morning ..read more

Planted two young catnip plants and sowed a ton of seeds. I even changed up the grow light, back to 2 spiral grow bulbs. Moved around the wood and added in a paver under the basking bulb but left the cork pieces under it for the bugs! Now she can bury down again! that is, if she wants to ..read more

Hello! I'm having issues getting all of my lights to fall on the basking spot. Right now there is a zoomed t5 10.0 UVB bar, a very long Fluval plant LED bar, a 100 watt and 150 watt basking bulb from Zoomed in the the double deep dome, and a 100 watt zoomed ceramic heater. That's all the gear, only the issues. Firstly, please ignore the cactus. It's in there today and yesterday since I stole the Fluval LED from where my plants were. It won't be staying there past... Well past today... Read more ..read more

Hello all! I’ve been wanted a bearded dragon for YEARS now and I’ve finally decided to start planning for finally getting one in the next few months. Had a few questions for starts. As most of you know, I had 2 40 gallon tanks for my Leo’s, but recently built them new ones, meaning I now have 2 empty 40 gallon tanks. My plan is to sell one of them, and keep the other. I can use it while it’s a baby, and once it starts getting too big for the tank I’m planning on building my own tank to fit... Read more ..read more

Hi so I have bearded dragons and I just rescued one and had to put him in one of my older cages (until I get a new one for him) and it's all glass. I have a background in the back and sides but its the kind that sticks to the outside so the glassbon the inside still reflects from the heat lamp and the uvb fixture. I haven't really ever had this problem with my other cages. They're not glass except for the doors but everything I try hasn't helped anything really unless I use something that... I brought out the rest of the wood pieces, soaked to kill the spiders, one was orange and round, not a isopod though. Luna hides behind it all, so I laid her blanket down. I never noticed when I was young if our males beat up on the females but andy terrorized her, paul and diego both will jump her out of the blue. BUT she does give back, the orange kid has had some nasty scabs around the face ..read more
