In February, we had the pleasure to guest at our academy players and coaching team from the Campus Tenis Academy from Sète in France. They were visiting our tennis academy for a week of intensive training. We organised for them a full-time training programme consisting of morning drills, fitness sessions, afternoon matchplay and tournaments. The group stayed in a nearby hotel just a five-minute walk away from our club. After training, they enjoyed their free time on our stunning beach - Playa Castelldefels. Our team did their best to push them on the court and at the same time make them feel c ..read more

This week we have had the pleasure to welcome at our tennis academy a group of ten girls from the Sutton Tennis Academy in England and their coaches. The girls have a personalised group programme of match play. We arranged for them matches against our academy players so that they can test their clay court skills against a variety of opponents. Such a set-up gives them plenty of opportunities to work on their game tactics for both singles and doubles as well as practise their movement and footwork on clay. Playing matches on this surface calls for specific tactical choices and differs signific ..read more

One of the greatest assets we add to our everyday training is coached practice match play. Our daily programme consists of 2 hours of match play in the afternoon. This provides plenty of opportunities to learn from matches every single day as our coaches offer feedback and guidelines to our players both in-between points and immediately after matches. The approach ties in neatly with the idea of inattention blindness and the famous experiment of Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons called ‘the Invisible Gorilla Test’. In the experiment the subjects were asked to count various passes of a bas ..read more

“I was born on November 2nd, 1998 in Barcelona, Spain. Coming from a sportive family, my dad was a waterpolo coach, reaching the Olympics on 1992 as a coach.  I’ve decided to play tennis at 6 years old, since then, never stopped.  When I was 12 years old, I started to compite on important competitions, such as, Catalunya Championships, and Spain Championships, where I played singles, dobles, and teams, representing Club Tennis Barcino, one of the best well known tennis clubs from Spain.  Also, I was able to travel around Europe, and play some Tennis Europes on singles.  On ..read more
