Since Port are more of a threat to our ladder position, I feel like I should be going for Adelaide tonight, but I've got a sneaking suspicion that I could be giving myself a long night. I mean, watching them trying to move forward in earlier games was just painful. Hopefully they've improved when I haven't been paying attention.
It's also a bit tough to pick a preference for tomorrow night's game between Carlton and Collingwood. On one hand, I'd quite like Collingwood to miss the finals, but on the other hand, for some reason, I resented Carlton making the finals last year, more than I did wi ..read more

Hello! Hope everyone is well and enjoying a great start to the season. I have the privilege if traveling to Australia this summer and attending my first Swans game in August against the Pies. Wanted to ask what seats have the best view to see the whole game (willing to spend more money as I wont have another opportunity for some time.). Also, is there any place fans meet up before or after the game? Finally, I am also hoping to attend an NRL game as well…I assume the half-line (we call it the 50 yard line) is the best view. Thanks in advance…you are all awesome ..read more

The tipping ladder in its current form:
Tom Wills - 13 (5)
saviour01 - 13 (5)
TwinCity - 13 (4)
Norris Lurker - 12 (5)
Blinkers28 - 12 (4)
strapper - 12 (4)
justabaraker - 11 (4)
geedoubleuess - 11 (5)
Felixandfriend - 9 (3)
tara - 9 (3) - Non-tip 2
With the public holiday, strapper missed the first game and I can't count that tip; so that is a 4 for strapper. Although I'm well aware of technical problems with the site - Strapper, if the reason you hadn't posted before the public holiday game was because you couldn't get on to the site, otherwise you would have, please let me know & I'll ..read more

A late change for Hawthorn, with key forward, Mitchell Lewis out, being replaced by young 203cm key forward, Max Ramsden; who'll be their sub. Braeden Campbell is our sub.
I'm feeling reasonably confident that our ball use should be enough to put the Hawks away. Though after watching the VFL, I'm slightly nervous about the umpiring, as they seemed to spend much of the match ignoring holding the ball and illegal disposal, but paying a heap of in the back, over the shoulder and hanging on too long. And I really hope that the umpiring fraternity, haven't been listening to the media commentators ..read more

Seems strange starting this thread on Wednesday, especially since we don't play until Sunday. Oh well, at least Richmond and Melbourne had byes last week, so we won't be watching a battle of zombie teams.
Perhaps the match of the round will be GWS v Brisbane tomorrow night. The Saturday twilight game of Geelong v Carlton will also appeal to many, but I'm not sure if I really want to get to emotionally invested in the battle of the salary sombreros ..read more

I was browsing the player statistics on AFL Tables and I found this one:
James Jordon has the highest winning percentage of any current AFL player who has played 50 games or more (53 wins, 1 draw, 17 losses, 75.35%, 1st). The other Swans player in the top 20 on this list is Logan McDonald (33 wins, 1 draw, 16 losses, 67.00%, 18th).
I was looking at this after the AFL website was roasting North Melbourne for having several players with low career winning percentages. Bailey Scott (NM) has the lowest winning percentage of current players who have played 50 games or more: 9 wins, 1 draw, 74 los ..read more

It could be a very good round of football, with every match up looking like a decent game. Even the 17th v 18th clash of North and Melbourne has some sort of appeal, with Mitchell going up against his old mentor Clarkson. While the WA derby might not be so one-sided, with the Eagles finally starting to show a bit of form.
Then there's the heavyweight clashes between Carlton and GWS, Collingwood and Port, and Brisbane hosting Geelong.
While tonight has St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs. Which I suspect could go two ways. Either a tight, enthralling contest, or the Bulldogs being so lacklustre ..read more
