Was a great day - actually whole week was amazing - father son bonding time. The game was great of course - the lunch before hand at AIA training centre, the darn service in the morning at the shrine. And Melvourne even turned on the weather - no rain and sunshine (and still cold but in a nice, tug yourself up way) and the autumn leaves lay golden brown in the parks grounds and on the tress/. And the food, the lanes ways, the coffee - amazing. And food relatively cheap and high quality. Did the DaVinci exhibition at the Lume, state library, visited the shrine and shed a tear, and hit lygon str ..read more

All AFL games this weekend will pay tribute to domestic violence victims around Australia. This follows a spike in DV incidents this year. And in other exciting news the AFL will soon induct Wayne Carey into their hall of fame. This is the bloke who has disgraced himself and his game with repeated domestic violence offences over a long period of time. Some people call this hypocrisy. The AFL calls this .........ummmm..............yeah..........well..........lost for words actually!!!!!!! Can someone get a quote from The Big Dill on this one?? This 'sport' has also dished up male role models ..read more

Devils will generate $ $ $ economic activity . Tourism Employment opportunities Sponsorships It will be an industry within itself. When you consider there is 3 or 4 surplus clubs in Melbourne that need big subsidies to be viable then it is not unreasonable to help a state in building just one club, it's only fair. The fact that there is not one clear choice, is why I believe that there will eventually be 22 teams in the AFL. Out of the leaders, I would choose the Canberra area, to be known as CMM Rams. Canberra-Murray-Monaro, with most home games played in Canberra, 1 in Albury-Wodonga and 1 alternatively in Wagga Wagga and Somewhere like Batemans Bay. Then NT/Northern Australia, I think it will need to be a Northern Australian side, logistics issues notwithstanding. Then no 22. Newcastle., Wollongong? Sunshine Coast. 3rd WA…..Central Coast NSW? Newcastle will never have an AFL team. The jets s ..read more
