Humidity and temperature setup

Humidity/temperature question here. We are into our first furnace season with our crestie. Our house runs around 40%, so other than the initial morning misting (spray bottle), she's drying out down to the 40s and low 50s during the day. I know it's important to let the level drop during the day, I'm aiming to maintain an avg of 50 to 60% during the day, then mist her in the evening for higher humidity as well as water availability . Her temp is also hovering around 70 to 72. So to deal with... Read more ..read more

edit: posting this here because reddit is ignoring me i just wanted to get some advice from other gecko parents. last friday, i took my 6 year old baby, cersei, to the vet following a difficult shed that left one of her eyes swollen shut. she had a bit of stuck shed removed from her eye and her nostrils and was diagnosed with a vitamin a deficiency. the vet ordered the repashy vitamin a supplement for her (it has not arrived, calling tomorrow to pester them) and ofloxacin drops for her eye... Helping a female lay eggs
Geckos Unlimited

My girl is now 2 years old and has been doing great. Last year she stopped eating for a few months, lost most of her tail weight (about 20g), then finally laid two unfertilized eggs. They were quite firm and the second had a good amount of calcification on it - more than I would have expected for a reptile egg. She ate like a pig for the entire winter, gained all the weight back plus some. About a month ago she stopped eating again, and now she is bloated, cranky, and appears to have eggs... New adult leopard gecko not pooping much

I got a new leopard gecko 13 days ago. She came from a breeder and was shipped across the US to me overnight. She's 18 months old and has a great appetite. The only problem is that she has only pooped once in this time, on November 6. That poop was pretty big and contained 3 urates. She hasn't pooped since but continues to eat well. I can't see any signs of impaction through her belly. I'm not sure if her pattern is that she just doesn't poop frequently, or if she's stressed, or if there is... Read more ..read more

So I bought a light for my soon to have leopard gecko and it’s a UVA light. And I was wondering if it will have the same effect as a UVB? Also If it does have the same effect, would I still need to supplement D3? Or would it lead to an overdose? I’m getting a baby btw ..read more

Need some guidance. Background: My 8 year old leopard gecko female has been off food for about 2-3 weeks. She normally eats mealworms. I tried giving her wax worms, which has worked in the past if she ever wasn’t super interested in food, but even wax worms have no effect on her. I did force feed her one mealworm on thanksgiving in hopes to try and get her to eat something or to stimulate her metabolism, but to no avail. She doesn’t seem to do much: she mostly stays in her warm hide 24/7... Read more ..read more
