I have a 2011 ram 1500 SLT 5.7 4x4 with a 4in/6in lift with 35's. Randomly the truck will not let you move the shifter out of park into any other gear. Turn the truck off and it works just fine. Normally its only a minor pain to deal with but today while backing up at the boat launch to put boat in water in happend and lets just say it made me a little nervous trying to launch my boat. I was about to pull the trigger on my 6'' BDS lift with 35 tires and 20" wheels, but a few days ago i came across the gear ratio debate and i havent found a good discussion for the 4th gens. I havent been able to find my gear ratio yet. ill have to call the dealership tomorrow to find out, but hypothetically speaking... If I have a 3.92 or 3.55 gear ratio would this be a problem running 35 tires and 6" lift? I realize bigger tires are going to strain the tranny i just dont want to go over... Looking to put some type of utv tool box/storage box to carry all my tools, belts, tire repair kit, etc. As for now I've been strapping a tool bag in the back but it's not weather resistant and everything gets wet and dirty. I purchased a 2012 Dodge 2500 and have been very impressed so far. I have always driven a Ford diesel and wanted to try something new. The ride is better and the the Laramie Mega Cab is well put together. I had a tree blow down in the back of my property and hooked the tow straps up to pull it 40yds to my wood pile. I have a serious problem with my truck I was wanting to see if y’all have ever come across this problem. Whenever I hit a bump driving down the road the whole front end shakes like crazy and won’t go away until I slow down until around 20mph.
