Has anyone successfully installed a 270 free standing awning on a single cab ute?
Mine has ladder racks but they're just slightly too far a part to mount the awning. I'm thinking of getting a bar welded across the racks but I just wanted to hear everyone else's solutions.

I'm looking at getting rid of my old Hilux and getting something which is much more comfy on the road for longer drives, without the hard-core 4WD capability, but still 4WD/All-WD so it can handle the odd slippery track for fishing. My more rugged off-road fishing days are over.
I'm thinking Nissan X-Trail, Rav4, Subaru Forester/Liberty, Suzuki Vitara etc. A bit more clearance than your standard Camry would be good.
2nd hand, spend up to $20K. Reliability, fuel economy and on-road...

Hi readers, I found a quick easy fix to lighten the steering on the 200 series, I found it on another forum some time ago and it works, there is an adjusting screw on the outlet pipe on the power steering pump and I backed it off two full turns, ( ACW ) and this lightened the steering considerably. I was getting sore hands after a few hours behind the wheel and now it’s like power steering should be. I do not know if this is a recommended fix or if it may cause later problems so I have...

Hey! I'm wondering if anyone has a hard shell rooftop tent on a tub rack? Wondering if it works with enough room? If so is your tub rack half height or full height? I assume it would only work on full height?
Thanks in advance,

Hi folks,
Me myself and me ranger have a spare 9 weeks departing from Perth as soon as the kids go back to school in July.
Key theme of the trip is the top-end so from Broome, Kimberleys, NT, Arnhem Land, Gulf country and maybe even cape York time permitting. Perquisites to catch up with family in cairns and Brisbane for 2-3 days each. Everything else is fair game, the lesser traveled way the better.
For the most part each night will be a new camp but happy to hang around should there...

G'day all. Recently got myself a Pajero, which I'm planning on chucking a 2 inch lift in and some all terrains. Currently just has a roof rack, light bar, and electrical system I've installed. It has rear diff lock from factory too.
Completely new to 4wd'ing, my mate (Prado with lift and ATs) and I are planning on heading up MT Terrible in Winter. Any advice you can give regarding preparation, choice of track etc will be much appreciated.
Not trying to be the bloke with all the gear and...

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone's taken McCready Track into the Dandongadale River recently and/or knows what the condition is like? It's a one way in and out type of place and a mate of mine had some trouble getting back up it on a camping trip in April last year. Looking to do a trip in there in the next month.
Cheers,

Tesla has announced that they have a cybertruck that will be touring around Australia.
I am not sure what everyone else things, I am think they look great. I was keen on one, if I had the money, but given the recent issues - I am not too sure.
