Hi Peeps! I hope to grow some Padron peppers to spread around to friends and maybe a few to the local market. At the very least I hope to have a Tapas to go with my Bombas! Fry them up with oil and sea salt and wait for the hot one! We dont get Padron peppers here due to climate, so I decided to try and grow my own. I like to cook. Many recipes from many places and the worst part is not being able to get the ingredients or spices. Unfortunately, I live in a zone 8 area with months of cold... Read more ..read more

No. Not "Shit List" by L7. I used to grow a shit ton of chiles every year. If you want to see what I'm talking about check my growlist on my profile. But now I've cut it down to what works for me. Bolivian Rainbow - substitute for peri peri, works better in my climate. Goat's Weed - proper burn Chile Rayado - depth of flavour Primo - amazing flavour and heat Red BrainStrain - as above Yellow BrainStrain - probably my favourite Bhut Jolokia - nostalgia We all love the flavour and the... Well all my stuff got wiped out by mice. What else is their to say. Last year Grasshoppers wiped out many peoples gardens as well as mine. Sine of the times ??? Peppers, Corn, the only thing they didn't like was my Acorn Squash. Its on my porch flowering and has three fruit. Got about five pepper plants on the porch that survived the Aphid wars, most others did not. About 20 pots from last year. Might start a few seeds again, gonna rely on some store versions for now. Night temps still... Read more ..read more

Question about roots
The Hot Pepper
by Perky91

Hey everyone, what’s up? So I was looking at my Carolina reaper plant and noticed that there were roots poking out of the top of the soil. I was puzzled when I saw this, but noticed for about a week now that the top of the soil in this particular pot stays really damp. I water my plants every 2-3 days and stop when I see water come out the bottom of the pot. So I don’t think I’m over watering them, this is the only pot which this happens. So I thought maybe that the roots were seeking out... Read more ..read more

Snowdrops out and the early signs of daffodils are abundant here in the U.K. ... we are reminded that winter is all but done however looking at next weeks temperatures I am not so sure. I am late this season I normally sow between Christmas and New Year but last season I was too advanced and the Growtents were bulging before I could get the plants into the polytunnel.... my propagation is crammed full of all sorts of chilli seeds germinating away after their tea soak ... big year for me as I...
