For those who work hybrid- if you stay home on a WFH day, do you go into the office on another WFH day?

I started a hybrid position in Dec, had to stay home today and work remote on what is usually an in office day because my daughter is sick. Do I offer to come in office tomorrow, which would normally be a WFH day? Do I just ask my boss? We spoke this morning and it wasn’t mentioned? submitted by /u/irisheyesarelaughing [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Trying to convince manager to let me work hybrid, any tips?

I'll try to be concise for privacy and time purposes. I am an Financial Analyst for a megacap healthcare firm. I commute about two hours roundtrip a day for work and I feel like its such a waste of time. I am so unbusy at work that I often sit around wondering what to do ( when I'm not working on my classes). I stayed home sick about three weeks ago and was able to clean the house, perform personal tasks, and not be stuck in traffic going to the gym, honestly, it felt like my life completely opened up and I felt capable to handle my work load. My boss on the other hand is a boomer and a hypoc ..read more

Lend a hand? Looking for a role/referral

Hello, been working all my life in labor-intensive roles, often work in a family friend’s office for years. Just wondering what roles/companies are out there with open positions that would hire a guy in an office, potentially WFH role, without a college degree? Pause for a guy that may be a little clueless, just looking for a good point in the right direction, maybe a helping-hand. And I know it’s a little cliché but I’m organized, hard-working and while it may not be on display here the best, I count myself as a decent writer. Would love to shoot my resume over to anyone interested in fillin ..read more

Hybrid with mandatory attendance is not flexible at all
Reddit » Working From Home

Is a “flexible” hybrid work model with mandatory attendance truly flexible? From my perspective, it’s not. Here’s why: Locked-in location: When a company enforces mandatory office days, it ties you down to a specific location, even if attending in person doesn’t make sense due to the work nature. This goes against the concept of true flexibility where work can be done effectively from anywhere. Unpredictable commutes: If your company decides to relocate or change the designated office, this could drastically affect your commute. You might find your previously manageable 20-minute drive turni ..read more

Is this legal for a wfh job?

My office is sending me to wfh this week but they will not have a website to clock in, they will only have their software that tracks what aux youre in to determine when you 'clocked in' by opening it. I'm concerned because their computers theyre assigning are old and always having issues in office. I feel like theyre going to find ways to not pay when their crappy computers fail to load their goofy software. Is there anything I can do if they end uo doing this? submitted by /u/mossulad [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am currently you full time WFH but have a job offer that’s hybrid (2 days WFH) with a 40% pay bump. The drive to work is about 10 minutes. I have been WFH for 6 years now and enjoy it but at the same time feel capped from a career path standpoint. Would love to hear thoughts/advice from others who’ve been through similar decisions submitted by /u/tall_sand_2020 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Making friends while working from home?

I, (24f) did online high school and started my business right after. I work from home, and my only consistent social interactions are with my husband, 2 employees, and clients. Needless to say my social life has been lacking for some time, and I feel a little stunted in that realm. Where do young adults find friends these days? I’ve tried attending local women’s Facebook group events but so far I’ve been the only person in my 20s, with the majority being 40-60 yrs old. I just feel a little out of place with such a large age gap. Any suggestions? submitted by /u/thatpilatesprincess [visit red ..read more

Ideally, I would love a part time work from home job where I can choose my hours. Does such a job exist? Its so hard to wade through the scams I’m starting to lose hope. Any recommendations would be helpful. Send me to the holy grail! submitted by /u/Puzzleheaded-King978 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Anybody hunching for 8 hours?

I WFH almost 3 days a week and my wife says that my posture has gotten worse in the last couple of years (post-pandemic when I started hybrid). I took my picture from the side and it shows that my posture has gotten bad with stooping and hunching. I want to see a chiropractor but given the amazing health benefits, my health plan does not cover chiropractors. It's frustrating because I will have to pay out of my pocket. Anyway, I wanted to see if any of you have developed a bad posture because of WFH and what can be done to fix it. submitted by /u/DiversifyMN [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
