So we recently came back from two days at Hong Kong Disneyland. It was our son's first Disneyland trip and I think Hong Kong is one of the best ones to use as a beginner park, a park which opens later, you don't need to line-up hours before to get in and reserve passes, overall a pretty relaxed two days. The first visit (tier 1) was actually far busier than our second day (tier 2) but even at the busiest ride times maxed out at around 30-40 minute lines and would drop throughout the day. I want to give a big shout-out to TPR's Facebook stories, it's a shame such information disappears because ..read more

at first, when I heard that TPR was doing an Oktoberfest trip in 2024, I thought there was no way I'd be able to participate - I mean, I'm not a big drinker, and the trips are really limited space wise. but after talking it over with Elissa and being assured I wasn't the only non-drinker that would be on the trip, and besides, imagine getting to experience the Halloween event at Europa Park (180,000 pumpkins! and the Traumatica night time offering), I was all in, and luckily was invited to join along. so yes, I'll have two TPR trip reports running at the same time, since I'm still nowhere ne ..read more

Not really my thing to have on a cruise ship, but still interesting that engineers can pull things like this off.   https://thepointsguy.com/cruise/norwegian-aqua-cruise-slidecoaster-peek/   I was watching one of my cruise news videos and found this - with video starts at 2:02 Quite interesting ..read more

Pictures I took on my recent trip to Thorpe Park for the first time since 2010 and random thoughts! (Review..?)

Last time I went to Thorpe Pak was in 2010 and it was a hot summers day and everything was a walk on. It's a long drive for us, (200+ miles) so it takes a bit of planning and co-ordination with others so we don't get to go as often as we'd like, Towers is much closer and is usually easier to sync up with others since it's you only need a day and don't have to mess around with accommodations etc.. This time it wasn't as sunny but as a consolation price there were two new credits to collect, Swarm (actually my first wing coaster, too!) and Hyperia. Gutted that the Slammer is no more, I really en ..read more

Castle Park - Palace Entertainment - really bad years of ride closings - any other palace parks?

So Castle Park got rid of their two kiddie coasters before this year.  The Screamin Demon - spinning coaster was just recently removed and Merlin's Revenge is up for sale; so all four coasters will be, or are already gone.  The Sally dark ride was closed and drywalled over without any warning earlier this year.   The spider and crazy plane rides were removed this year.  They only had one show, Anthony the Magic, and it was canceled and replaced with a dance party.   I can't find any of their other rides listed for sale besides the coaster so I am not sure tha ..read more

Six years ago I had the opportunity to sail with Disney Cruise Line on an incredible transatlantic adventure--one that we loved so much that when the opportunity to plan another European vacation came around, we knew we wanted it to be built around another Disney Cruise! Our entire trip would consist of a day and a half in London, an eleven night cruise on the Diseny Dream with stops in Chania, Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Valetta and Palma de Mallorca and ending with two days in Barcelona. We started our trip off with a day and a half in London, revisiting some of our favorites while enjoying ..read more

Aqua Shoe vs Aqua Sock
Theme Park Review Forums » Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!

I spent a day at the Temecula Mall looking at everything from Dick's Sporting Goods to Macy's to Pac Sun and nobody had heard of Aqua Socks or Water Socks.  I was handed water shoes at a couple of places.  I checked over 10 stores in total. I searched online for Aqua Socks and Water Socks, and every link took me to socks that were also described as Aqua Shoes. Per Cedar Fair and Six Flags websites, Aqua Shoes are not allowed on the attractions and I assume that they could damage surfaces. Where do you find water park-approved Aqua Socks to keep from burning your feet on the concrete ..read more
