This is a continuation of my series of posts about wristwatches, pocket watches, and other pieces that I am able to save from gold filled scrap. For reference, this piece has already been sold. It has a quartz movement and is not running; I was unable to get the back off as I did not want to severely scratch it and/or snap the band ..read more

After a *ridiculous* amount of research into Waltham, Waltham Aircraft Instruments, and Waltham SA/Watch Angels, I can mostly identify a Waltham from its time produced.
However, THIS Waltham chrono is denying my ability to identify its production period; is it an early Waltham SA product from Antonio DiBenedetto? Is it a "Japanese" Waltham Heiwado & Co?
Ang help is appreciated ..read more

Posting this here as despite being a small pocket/purse watch, the movement is a wristwatch one. I'm just a sucker for this movement-have had a few and love the lines...even though they always need work. Ditisheim 15J watch movement, dial is branded Excelda-not sure if any connection to Excelda phonographs? Only cost a few dollars. The hairspring was literally a rat's nest of pulled loops-I was able to tease it back into shape. Needed hands and crystal. Now working for 8 hours at a...

Hi All -
A friend of mine has a 1940s or 50s Swiss "International" tank-style wristwatch that belonged to her grandfather with his name inscribed on the case back. The watch sets, winds and runs but is missing its crystal and also needs a COA. She intends to present the watch to her son for his college graduation in early June.
Any recommendations for a watchmaker who could handle this project for us?
Thanks.

Okay guys, heres another some of you may be able to assist with some history on. Recently purchased (privately/not eBay) a gold Tiffany ladies watch. Here's the description:
Gold rectangular cased, ivy scrolling/etching along the sides, white dial reads Tiffany. Case is the kind that would originally hold a ribbon type band. On the dial below the gold hands, there is a kind of imprint (no color, just imprinted) of some kind of three curved lines with little dots (sorry, best way I can...
