Hi, we are looking for advice on June 2024 road trip thru the Charlevoix and Gaspe peninsula areas of Quebec, focusing on hiking, scenery, cute small towns, and maybe whale-watching. We are traveling as a couple and would welcome any advice (activities, lodging, etc.) on the rough game plan outlined below, and we’d also welcome thoughts on whether early June makes sense for this trip. We have been to Montreal and Quebec City, which are lovely, so our focus is elsewhere this trip. We are looking at travel the second week in June and we have two main questions: (1) are hiking trails in the Char ..read more

I'm planning a trip to the Canadian Rockies this summer, and I'm looking for some recommendations on the best hiking trails to explore in Banff and Jasper National Parks. I'm really excited to experience this region's breathtaking scenery and wildlife, so I'd love to know which trails are considered the top must-dos by those who have explored the area before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ..read more

My husband and I are gearing up for a 9-day adventure from New Jersey to Quebec this August. We're both in our early 60s and eager to explore. Our interests span from hiking, nature, sightseeing, and museums to local cuisine, wineries and breweries. Additionally, we may bring along our golf clubs, so any suggestions for golf courses are welcome. We're currently debating our itinerary. While my husband suggests heading straight to Quebec City and then backtracking to Montreal, I'm inclined towards a different route. My idea is to kick off in Montreal for a few days, then venture to Quebec City ..read more

Hi. Hoping you may help us plan a trip from Seattle to the Pacific Rim mid to late September. There will be 4 of us and a dog. My wife and I will be flying into Seattle and meeting up with one of our children, spouse, and dog. Plan is to drive to the Pacific Rim National Preserve area. Looking for the best route, suggestions on how many nights and places to stay and visit. We love to hike (with the dog) and love local restaurants. I want to visit Tofino, Ucelet, and the Pacific Rim National Preserve. Not sure whether or not we could just find one location to stay in and drive to the differe ..read more

Hello all, we will be getting off a Cruise in Quebec City on a Friday after spending a full day docked in Quebec on a Thursday and sightseeing. We are trying to decide whether 1) to spend more time in Quebec City. Will one day be enough? and 2) whether or not go on to Montreal. If so how many days would be good to spend in Montreal? With no car, what will be the best way to get to Montreal? Train looks easy. Thanks in advance ..read more

We are hoping to do a two to three week car camping trip throughout Nova Scotia starting the last week of August or first of September. We hate to tie ourselves down to reservations so that we can be flexible. That used to work for us pre-covid. Can anyone let us know how hard it is to find open camping spots at Provincial or National Parks mid week ..read more

Hello, all, I'm planning a trip for my husband and me to Montreal and Halifax in late July/early August, and I welcome your recommendations for hotels, restaurants, experiences, and the itinerary in general. We enjoy slow travel, history, art, big cities (as we live in a small one), good food, wine, strolling and hanging out. We are 68 and 73 and have traveled a lot in Europe, only to Vancouver in Canada. (Though I did visit Montreal and Quebec City on a family trip as a child and remember the Plains of Abraham and the Barbie doll I acquired in Montreal, but that's about it.) Many thanks in ad ..read more

My wife and I will be spending a few days in Vancouver and then take 2 days to drive to Banff for another few days in September. We'd love some feedback on a possible itinerary for our drive to Banff. We understand it's about a 9.5 - 10 hour drive. We'd love your suggestions on what to see along the drive (towns, hikes, side trips, etc). For now the most critical part is "where to stay". I'd like to nail that down first but other suggestions are very appreciated. To give you some idea on what type of things interests us... Revelstoke looked like a really beautiful place that hit a lot of our ..read more
