There are ways to make ES and flash work even if the manufacturer doesn't have a specific mode for that. But that requires additional hardware like a flash trigger with adjustable delay and it's a rather involved process and you can't really vary the exposure time. If ES is what you're after, pretty much all of the current cameras have ES, starting with those for advanced users and semi-pros but only a few pro-cameras have ES with flash sync enabled such as the Sony A1 (and soon Sony A1 II). Olympus cameras (including non-pro cameras) also have this feature, since the beginning of their ES ..read more

Hi Rik. Many thanks for the response,I think I will go ahead with the purchase,an upgrade for my 7D which has a really clunky shutter. Most of my Macro is done using continuous lighting,so the issue should not be too troublesome,I can get around the problem using your suggestion of first curtain when I do use the flash set up. To control a flash setup like that, consider using a Digispark USB microcontroller development board (about $6). It's a very flexible solution because you program it with Arduino 1.8 (free software). The programming is fairly easy, but if you have a friend who knows Arduino he may kick-start the project. Then you can adjust parameters in the program as needed. Maybe an optocoupler should be used to isolate the flash trigger circuit. Statistics: Posted by macrolophus — Fri Dec 06, 2024 8:25 am ..read more

Gary - the front element of the Mitutoyo 10x has some deep scratches, that don't seem to impact the image, but still... I am glad I checked the lens, as I would not want to sell damaged goods. If you want to take a chance on the lens, I'll send it for no cost, just pay the postage. I'll still include the adapters and aperture, as they go with the lens. I doubt that the scratches can be polished out, but maybe the can be filled in? Any chance to reveal the schematics and parts for this "home-built control box"? I doubt I will have the knowledge to do that myself, but maybe somebody can build one for me... Statistics: Posted by bbobby — Fri Dec 06, 2024 1:27 am ..read more

Well good news my objective was delivered today. I will post some images from this objective when I get an opportunity to take some. Excellent! Here's hoping that your specimen is as good as the one I tested. --Chris S. Hi Chris, I did some preliminary tests using my Hasselblad 250mm f/5.6 as a tube lens giving a magnification of about 24X. I found the resolution of the Hoopuo Objective to be very good but it suffered from chromatic aberrations. Which stacks from my 25X 0.5NA carl zeiss jena A planachromat and Lomo 10mm 0.4NA Epi objectives did not show using the same 250mm as a tube l ..read more

That is just "one part" of all different "Lego" comparable modular parts that are available for that system. E.g. the bench length of < this particular Swebo camera part > is 340 mm (Zero point printed within the middle of the bench length. 170mm left and right side at that middle point). OK, in reality specifications give a 350mm play. (So 10mm more). https://www.swebo.us/fr350-tc18-5th-gen ... r-bellows/ But in case you just need some extra mm extension. You also can add a simple screw-in macro tube between lens and front standard. In combination by some adapter rings by the right mm ..read more
