The Conrad Tokyo had everything I love in a modern five-star luxury hotel: tasteful design seamlessly incorporating art and nature; well-appointed, spacious, and spotlessly clean rooms; and uniformly excellent staff. Whether refilling coffee, setting up a high chair, booking reservations, or making sightseeing and restaurant recommendations, everyone we encountered was fantastic. Hilton Impressario Benefits At the Conrad Tokyo, travelhappier clients receive daily breakfast for two, a $100USD equivalent hotel credit, and top of the list for an upgrade, best room in category, and priority for ea ..read more

Traveling with a newborn can be immensely stressful, but there are ways to “plan away” some of the uncertainty. A good checklist can make all the difference in the world for your sanity and level of zen. My biggest concern when traveling with my kids as infants was their health and safety. and I’m sure you’re the same way, especially in 2022. So, although some of the things on this list may seem like germaphobic overkill, when you're dealing with a little baby who hasn’t had all of their shots yet, you really can’t be too clean. 1. soft-structured carrier This is so essential to our travels th ..read more

Crystal Serenity Luxury Ocean Cruise

In October, we went on our first-ever cruise. We would be meeting my in-laws in Athens (they had been in Crete with my FIL’s Princeton alumni group) and then we’d board a 5-night Mediterranean cruise with planned stops in Santorini, Greece; Sicily (Taormina/Catania); Amalfi; and Rome. We decided on a short trip in order to “test the waters” so to speak and see how well our toddler tolerated cruising. The five nights actually turned out to be perfect- it seemed short but by the fourth day of sit down lunches and dinners my 2.5 year old toddler was over it. A separate post on the shore trips is ..read more

6 Reasons to Visit Disneyland Paris
Travel Happy Blog

1. Visiting Disneyland Paris is an easily manageable day trip from Paris. Although Disneyland Paris is technically larger than the original Disneyland, it has fewer lands and fewer rides than the original theme park, making it seem easier to visit everywhere you want to in a single day. We took the RER train in from Paris Opera metro station, and it was an easy and pleasant 50-minute ride to Marnee-la-Vallee. (And P.S., there is a designer outlet mall out there too — I haven’t been, but I’ve heard good things). It was quite rainy when we arrived at Disneyland Paris, but the sky was gorgeous b ..read more

I love to get the book recommendations of others and thus feel a sort of moral obligation to share books that Jules and I enjoy reading. Plus, board books are the best! Here are some of our favorite board books. 1. Someday by Alison McGhee and Peter H. Reynolds. "Someday" was given to me as a gift from my mom when I was still pregnant with my daughter. It is a beautiful story about growing up, experiencing life, and a mother's love - something I could not fully appreciate until I became a mom. Someday by Alison McGhee and Peter H. Reynolds. 2. On the Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman. This belongs in every kid's library. Polar bears dance, the wind whispers, and the moon sings - all in celebration of your child’s birth.
