Charlotte Mizener is a retired professor of music education at Lamar University in Beaumont,
Texas. She received the Bachelor of Music- Music Education degree and Master of Music in
harp performance degree from the University of North Texas and the PhD in music education
from the University of Texas at Austin.
Charlotte started studying harp at the age of 11 and has had many fine teachers from whom to
gather tips, tricks, and tools for developing playing technique. Throughout her public school and

From Mary Muckle: I grew up in a rural farming area outside of the then very small town of Whitby, Ontario, Canada. My first instrument was the piano, taught by Elaine Broughton the organist at our local church.
