Resin art is a fantastic craft to learn but it can be a bit daunting at first. Knowing where to start and what equipment you will need can be difficult when you are starting out.
Here is my resin art guide for beginners to help you along and get started with resin art. It will hopefully give you some information and answer some questions you may have about getting started with resin.

When I took a look back over 2020, one of things I wanted to do more of was use alcohol inks in resin again. I did it quite a bit in the early part of 2020. Then I pretty much forgot about it in the second half and wanted to try some new things with them. So far this year I have made some rainbow coasters and pendants with alcohol inks. For my next project I wanted to create a rainbow effect in the whole of the tray and try to create some rainbow alcohol ink resin mini trays.

I love the run up to Christmas! I love thinking of what gifts to make for different people and try to make as many as I can myself. There are so many different possibilities when using resin. I have explored several resin Christmas gift ideas in this post from last year but wanted to add some more ideas this year. In this post we are specifically going to have a look at resin bottle openers as a gift idea.

After using my neon pigments from Resin8 to make this neon pencil pot, I wanted to try and create more neon resin projects.
They are so bright and fun to have around. The neon pencil pot I made in this post is currently sitting on my desk at work keeping my pens tidy!
Neon resin bookmarks
My next neon resin projects were some resin bookmarks. For the first one I added a little neon green pigment to the resin, poured, waited for it to cure and this was the outcome
As you can see it’s not fully opaque but the neon colour comes out beautifully especially against the green grass background. I ..read more

For the last year or two I have made a resin bookmark for my kid’s teachers. This year I decided on something a little different. With my previous experiments of pencil pots and using neon resin I used these creations as inspiration for this years teacher gifts.
Resin Teacher Gift – Pencil pot one
For this first pencil pot teacher gift I used a different pencil pot mould than I have done before. I used this one from resin8, which is ribbed and due to this I decided to complete it in layers. I used my cricut and cut out the teachers name on vinyl before sticking this to a piece of acetate to pl ..read more

I love any opportunity to create seasonal crafts (like these resin Christmas decorations), so with Easter around the corner what better way to present a chocolate egg than with this cute resin Easter bunny!
To create these gorgeous bunnies I got this fantastic quality mould from Mr Resin.
Instead of using a block colour using a pigment I decided to use some glitter instead.
For the first resin Easter bunny I made I used Hemway Epoxy Resin Glitter in Gold Silver. I really enjoy using this glitter. It comes out beautifully within the resin and they have a massive range of sizes and colours to c ..read more

I love making handmade resin gifts. I also like making things that are really useful. A resin pencil pot is a perfect teacher gift or for a stationery lover or just for yourself to tidy those pens and pencils! Take a look at some different pencil pots I have made using different inclusions and pigments.

Last year I treated myself to a cricut joy. I have used it in all sorts of ways such as making cards and iron-on t-shirt transfers to name a few. The other main thing I have used it for is to personalise my resin makes. This post will show a few examples of how I have used my cricut to personalise my resin pieces.

I love using hand made soap, supporting local soap makers and having a go at making my own. However I have come across the problem of how to store them by the sink. I have used soap dishes that haven’t drained and the soap has become mushy, not had a great texture and also not lasted as long as I had hoped. This time I wanted to try making something different and decided upon using resin with tumblestones to create a tumblestone soap dish.
I have made some soap dishes before using jesmonite which have worked really well but this time I’m trying out resin.
