Hey everyone, I wanted to get some help on my school list because it feels way too long and there's not enough mid tier schools I'm applying to. People keep telling me that my stats will carry my application which is true to some extent, but my advisor told me that yield protection is also pretty big and encouraged me to apply to more schools. Additionally, I feel like my narrative is relatively weak and difficult to connect with all my activities. It's mainly focused on how through...

You had a good run as Radiologists, but it looks like Med-Gemini has you all beat:

Hi everyone, just trying to take a pulse on my application.
Bird's eye view: Afro-Latino, low SES. Grew up around a lot of poverty and violence. Parents were not education-focused at all and were dealing with MH issues in my childhood. I just barely made it to college and was already unable to afford basic necessities; was desperately clinging to loans and campus jobs to pay for tuition, but didn't have books and was already in dissaving by Day 1. I wasn't doing amazing in class but was...

I received a full-tuition scholarship from both of these schools, so I'm only considering these 2 at this point. I would be graduating without debt from either school, so the higher cost of living in Miami is not a big factor. I am interested in pursuing neurosurgery.
Miami
Pros
Stronger (?) match results
Partner's parents live in Miami
Will be using Spanish constantly, which I want to do in my career
Great clinical opportunities at Jackson Memorial
Great research...

Hi!
I am a PGY3 applying to forensics for the 2025-2026 cycle. Per the AAPL time line programs could begin reviewing and offering interviews 5/1/24. I was wondering if anyone had been receiving interviews from non-home programs yet, or any insight into how long to wait before sending interest emails. And advice or info is appreciated, thanks ..read more

Hi everyone! I have 3 days to decide between SUNY Upstate and Albany. I would appreciate any insight you all might have as I am really on the fence because both are amazing options! Albany is about $13k/yr more than Upstate, and COL would be about the same. Both have an 18-month pre-clerkship phase, and I am not partial to either city (but welcome others' experiences living in these cities and their outdoor recreation options). Would also love to hear about any clerkship experiences within...
