4 or 5 years ago now, I saw an ad on Marketplace for a 7119. It looked new. The price was a bit steep but I offered $100 less than the asking price and they took it. Almost 400 mils round trip and I made it home in the wee hours with my prize loaded in the back of my Frontier. Had to remove the deck to load it then strap the deck in beside it. The truck didn't care about the weight as far as pulling goes but the curves along I-40 crossing the mountains made it lean big time (picked it up just outside of Knoxville Tn).
Once I got the deck back under it I found that the engine surged ..read more

Well, the good news is that I found the hydro leak on my Sunstar. The bad news ? I found the leak on my Sunstar.
Set the rear of the Sunstar on jack stands so that the rear tires were a couple of inches off the floor. Started the engine and at less than half throttle and the hydro level at full forward I began to see fluid dripping now and then. There was a pretty strong thunder storm and I didn't feel like laying on the floor looking for the source. Went out a while ago and removed the tunnel cover and found the leak. It was coming from the input shaft seal. Not that big a deal un ..read more

So after all that fixing, my wife was able to mow about a half hour. The power started declining and it died on her a couple times, and was difficult to restart. Had spark, but plugs were dry.
Don't know about compression, can't find my dang gauge.
Fuel supply is good to the carb.
I suspected a carb issue so started to remove the carb. I forgot though..the carb is horrible to remove due to the anti backfire solenoid on the underside of the carb... Which needs to be removed to pull it out. Last time, it was about an hour of small wrench strokes and cussing du ..read more

Not much progress here lately. Still adjusting the 917 slowly, carb is finicky and the deck adjustment is off but it's getting there. The hour meter I think might not be getting what it's supposed to either, as its not working anymore but oh well. However, the Landlord has slowly been getting some attention. I finally took the pump off to replace the o-ring, but turns out it wasn't even there it was just slathered in gasket sealer.. I also removed the strong-arm lift as it has come off to replace with the hydro lift I have. And I test fit the foot pedal to see how it works. I think I have a ge ..read more

Hoping you guys can help me out. I picked up this AC 7100 series tractor, and I'm not sure if it was originally a diesel, or if someone put new decals on it. I don't see a similar decal configuration, but maybe this is a newer or older set. Thee reason I am asking is there is a CH20 in it now, and the PO tried to wire it up and melted some of the wiring. The engine is supposed to be good, but it's going to have to come out to go through it. Someone actually cut the cowl apart, possibly to access the coils(?) and it won't turn over. Seems to be a starter issu ..read more

I just received a simplicity regent 1694321 don’t know the year it has a red engine 1995 model which I assume is older than the tractor. My problem is that the deck will only go up to the number 4 and acts like it’s binding but I can’t see any reason why. It was actually sticking at 3 but I did get it to go to 4 finally. It It really needs to go higher it’s almost scalping. I even blocked the deck up so that the weight of the deck was taken out of the equation Any insight is very welcome. Thanks  ..read more

I made a trip put to Pennsylvania from Southeast Michigan to pick up this bad mamma jamma. I've been looking for a tiller for my Powermaxes for quite a while. I know you fellow P-max owners know how hard a tiller in decent shape is to find. Now I just need to find some skinny ag tires ..read more

My Hydro18 throttle will not hold position. I’ve tightened but that did nothing. So, on April 4 I ordered couple sets from Jacks since I also have an AC910 and B210 w/this throttle setup. This is my third email notice. Taking bets on whether or not I get em ..read more
