We've been having a banner year for growing grass around here. Lots of rain to keep it wet and growing with some sunshine mixed in.
So what happens?
Looks like a relay or sensor switch of some type crapped out
The little tractor has an electric switch to engage the PTO. I flip the switch and you can hear something TRY to engage, but it doesn't actually engage.
Of course, the local shop has a 2 week wait to get it repaired. I tried everything I know how to do, other than...

I have a MF 65 tractor with a rear mounted 3 point snow blower. It runs very well off the pto but my neck and back are suggesting that a front mounted blower would be much more comfortable and efficient. Obviously this 1958 tractor has neither a front mounted pto nor enough hydrAlice power to push a snowblower. I do have a loader mounted on the front that would be perfect to mount a front blower. I have seen a few self powered blowers that would fit my situation. Does anyone have experience...

I ran across a website and thought you guys might find some interesting parts you might need. Then I thought I would share my links because some of you might be interested in some of them. It might be good to start a list of useful websites for parts and supplies. Please add others as you can.
If we get enough good sites, maybe the mods will even make this a 'sticky' so it can be referenced easily? Maybe someone who restores cars/trucks (DARGO?) would want to start up a similar thread in...

Gave my neighbor a hand on his 5120 Case tractor , the parking brake was worn out , which entails splitting the machine , trans /diff come out, in order to get at it. The brake assembly is mounted on the diff pinion gear ,so a lot of trans parts comes off to change it. Going back in was a pain in the %%%##@@@,as you are lining up three splined shafts, but it's bolted back together ,just have to put the rest of the stuff on.......... snows coming...

I finally finished the restoration of my dad's 1956 Farmall 100 , stretched it to long with other projects on the go. Other than my obsession with Bombardier snocats , red tractors are my thing, with four restored and quite a few more candidates on the list to do .I've been wanting to get these pictures, and a month ago it happened, same tractor, same guy, with a 60 year spread between pics ...

I am hoping to pick up a 9N FORD tractor this weekend. THE guy had an 8N and a 2N on his driveway but when I called he mentioned a 9N in the garage.
The 2N was adequate but I would prefer the 9N as I have had several years' experience with one. Most 2N's do not have starters or Generators and run off a magneto. This due to wartime restrictions when the 2N was being built instead of the 9N.
I also have had the 8N both of which were stolen.
If he hasn't sold it by Saturday, I will get...

I'm not a tractor mechanic, but I've done my fair share of wrenching on other stuff.
This front wheel was leaking a bit for sometime, but now it appears to be much worse.
I'll have to guess it's a bad wheel seal.
Anybody ever done one of these?
I do know a guy who's a heavy equipment mechanic. (hasn't answered me back yet)
Is this a job a guy can do himself, or is it best left to those in the know?
And...any idea what a job like this might cost?
As always, thanks for any info ..read more
