We (2 adults) have done 11 DCL cruises to the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Baja but never did Alaska and will be going this September for the first time ? Can anyone who’s gone give me your port adventure recommendations for: Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, as well as anything else you did on your Alaska trip that was awesome? This is what we are eyeing for excursions: Skagway: Yukon Expedition Juneau: Alaska salmon bake, glacier, and hatchery Ketchikan: Nothing, maybe some shopping and eating at local restaurants? We really want to dog sled on the glacier but saw that it gets cancelled a lot this ..read more

Help us choose - wish or dream?

Inspired by another post but different circumstances. We've been on a 4nt Wonder cruise before out of SD and loved it. For next year we're deciding between the 4nt Wish or a 5nt Dream. The reason we are leaning towards the Wish is because the restaurant themes (frozen, starwars, marvel) and shows (little mermaid, aladdin) seem to be much better than the Dream (which are also similar to what we had on the Wonder?). We're also interested in seeing the new ship design. The main pro about the Dream is that it is an extra night and we felt last time like 4nt was a little short. We do however plan ..read more

Virtual Portals

I booked my 1st Disney cruise on the Magic recently The agent assured me their was a virtual portal in my deluxe stateroom. When i tried to research and bring up visual confirmation, there was none to be found. I googled it and it came up that ONLY the Fantasy and Dream have such portals. Does anyone who has travelled on the Magic since it's refurbishment know IF these virtual portholes were added as part or the refreshment ? My agent is not returning my calls ! submitted by /u/OrganizationThat498 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Has anybody gone solo?

Me (31f) and my brother (34) recently got off the Fantasy, and I absolutely loved it! I am down to book another cruise and go again, but I feel like he’s done with cruising for now. I’m more on the introverted side, but I feel comfortable on Disney cruises so tend to come out of my shell while on board (it’s like I’ve found my people lol). I’m seriously considering going by myself for the next one, but I’d like to hear from other people who are similar to me first. Solo travellers, how did you find it cruising by yourself? Did it get lonely? Did you get paired up with another group for dinner ..read more

We are trying to book a cruise for my 40th birthday and are looking for advice on the whole experience. One particular thing that comes to mind is 2 connecting rooms versus 1 larger room for the 5 of us. Any and all tips or tricks are welcome, especially with making it a fun trip for all! Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Impossible_Face1153 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Help us decide! 5 nights on the Magic vs. 4 nights on the Dream

Hi y'all! I could use some help in deciding between two cruises. This is a "do-over" of sorts for my 40th birthday last year since we were unable to do anything big (whereas for my husband's 40th we went to Vegas). We've previously sailed Disney twice before; 3 nights on the Dream in 2015, and 7 nights on the Fantasy in 2023. Right now I'm really torn between two options. Option 1: 5 night Western Caribbean from Galveston on the Magic. Stops in Cozumel, and Progreso with 2 sea days. This would be our first time on the Magic, and I've also always wanted to go to Progreso since there's a millio ..read more

We are doing a 7-night Eastern Caribbean in June on the Fantasy. I am hoping for guidance on dinner/shows/pirate night/fireworks. First question is about rotational dining. I know you can’t tell me where I’ll be eating each night. But does it rotate in order, for example Night 1: Dining Room A, Night 2: Dining Room B, then C, A, B, C..? The reason I ask is that we have Palo on night 2 and Remy on night 5. Are we going to miss Dining Room B completely? If yes… Palo is at 7:00 and we have late dining at 8:15. Could we snag the kids after we eat and take them to dinner a little late? Or do you r ..read more

Does anyone know why the Wonder is the main ship for San Diego? They brought Magic out here last fall and I hoped it would stay longer than it did. Anyone have any information about them bringing other ships out here? Thanks! submitted by /u/socalmom18 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
