So I have an old Loc On Limit that I want to fix up and revive. Its in good shape but just needs some care so I thought about replacing certain sections since its old. I have 3 questions. 1. I want to replace both square tubing you see in my picture of the stand. They are both just over 20 inches. Is general hardware store metal tubing ok? 6061 or should I go better? 2. Where can I get 2 new cables that run from the back to the platform? Figure if i'm going to fix it all up I might as well... Loc On Limit ..read more

Hubby had a demo at work and I got 4 SS shower panels and a door brought home with brackets. Now on there side the brackets will screw into the tower platform perfectly. Each would be 33in high by fifty 2 long just about the base of one of the destroyed doghouse blinds. Also there are 5 or 6 ft As up rights. Now theses are light weight card board filled for structure. They won't be weight baring and will make rebuilding the blinds a breeze, cheap too. The lower walls a breeze and the upper... Finally finished this project, and wanted to post a few pics. Started with a farm running gear (got a great price on this one for $100), bolted a 4x4 frame to it and then 2x6 floor. And 3/4" plywood floor. Everything in this project was green treated except the studs for the walls. Did angled corner walls with bow windows on the front, and then sliding horizontal windows on the rest. All from Deerview. Windows were caulked and screwed on. Got a cheap door from the return section... DIY Mobile Deer Blind on Running Gear ..read more

DIY tower stand

Is it necessary to use the corner brackets for tower stand? Are u able to build a tower stand without them? Also is it necessary to cement the legs into the ground? I would think that these two processes would add stability but would add about 200 dollars to the cost and just seeing if they are a must. Mud it up

Not sure if I've mentioned this before but this is how I prefer to "paint" any stands I make outta wood, Instead paint/stain I use MUD. I have one shooting house I built 12_14 years ago and it looks the same now as when I built it. Mix dirt n water and just rub it in hard. Creates a hard, dull, durable, natural looking finish that blends in great and does not stink of shine. Here is a bird feeder I just built outta scrap wood. The mud is still just a bit wet but should be dry... Mud it up ..read more
