If it helps, I tried using golden syrup (partially inverted sugar, not the inverted sugar that Belgian candi is but close enough) to make a Flemish Brown a few years back.
The calculation I used was that you needed 20% more syrup than solid sugar, which comes out similar to your 1.00 to 1.25kg ratio...

Isinglass can be useful for clearing wines and it can be used to clear beer - best results are usually obtained when the beer is "flat" and has been in the fermenter for (say) 2 weeks or more. Any amount of "fizz" will disrupt the action of the isinglass. Also Isinglass is not vegan and that may be a problem for some drinkers. TBF it is a problem for some drinkers even if not vegan. :0)
