Henry has getting matted SO easily here lately and his hair is becoming wavy. Could his hair be getting wavy since his hair is growing out from his cut? I wish I never cut him! I think he looks so scrappy right now due to the fact that his coat is growing back in. Would this also result in the matting? I brush him 3 times a day and it seems like there are always a few mats and he is always looking 'scrappy.' Poor lil guy!
In addition to this, his tear stains are back in full force...

Hi!
I have developed severe arthritis in my basal thumb joint which makes holding the clippers difficult. Can anyone recommend a high quality LIGHT WEIGHT clipper set good for tiny Maltese? I currently have an older Oster A5 from my Bichon showing days. Works well, just want something newer and light weight.
Also, does anyone use a clipper (over scissors) to trim between the eyes?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, was wondering if any of your Malts’ hair have become more wavy over time? Dante’s hair seems to be more wavy after every cut. Please see attached pictures.
Dante at 10 weeks old (never had a haircut), then first hair cut at 24 weeks old and then second haircut at 36 weeks old (his left leg had to be shaved for his general anaesthetic for neutering)
The groomer used a combination of electric clipper and scissor and we found that his hair has grown out a little more wavy each time. Not...

Hi all, Dante had to have his leg shaved when he was under general anesthesia for his neutering. That was almost 3 months ago and we thought that the hair would have grown back by now. Please see picture attached. It’s the left leg that was shaved. The groomer told us that it might take 6 months or maybe even a year but she is not that familiar with Maltese dogs so she can’t be more certain. Just wondering if others have gone through the same thing and how long it took? We asked the groomer...

My pup is almost 7 months old and we've been grooming at home. Ik this is a bit problematic but I was very nervous letting someone else bathe him, clip his nails etc. He is also chill enough to let me cut his beard short which I think suits his face more. He has beautiful and very managable hair and while its a bit of an issue getting dirt stuck in it Im too sad to cut him shorter. Im thinking of asking for just scizzors all over and a small trim. I also...

I love this forum! If it wasn't for here I would have never learned what a game changer a wood-pin brush would be for grooming my Lily.
I just got the purple Chris Christensen wood pin brush last week and now Lily no longer runs when it is time to get brushed. In fact, she acts like it is a massage and rolls over onto her belly for more brushing when we are done. She will also whimper toward the brush if she spies it on a table, hoping I will brush her.
Before this I was using...

Our 4 year old Zita has had tear stains since we got her at 12 weeks. I tried every product, every tip, cleaned her eye area at least twice a day, trimmed the fur around her eyes extremely short. It was time-consuming and never looked great.
Several weeks ago, I took Zita to the vet because she'd been scratching a lot. In addition to Apoquel for the itch, the vet gave Zita an inection of an antibiotic (I forget which kind) because her ears had become infected from scratching.
Now, about a...

Ive read some good things about their hypoallergenic shampoo but didnt find much on their other products like the conditioner, detangling spray and whitening shampoo.
Im prepearing for my pup but I live in a small eu country and most recomended brands arent available. I already have a full set of products from igroom but they cost me an arm and a leg so some cheaper alternatives would be great ..read more
