Hello,
I want to know if someone can help me unlocking the bootloader of this device for installing custom rom/apps
It has an Intel Cherry Trail Processor
I can boot to fastboot using the Vol- and Power together and tried the following commands
fastboot oem unlock - returns OKAY but doesn't unlock the bootloader
Code:
fastboot oem lock
- returns that the device is already in the required state
Code:
fastboot flash twrp.img
- returns that it cannot be possible since the device is locked...

Hi there!
This is my first post on xda, but I've come out with some fun findings.
The method of disabling secure boot is kind of complicated, and requires desoldering the BIOS chip and writing to the NVRAM data, however, it's a simple 1 byte entry called "SecureBootEnable".
There's also NVRAM variables listed "AntiRollBack", "KfAntiRollBack", and "OsAntiRollBack", and...

Hi
it is a long time ago.
Lastweek I got the fireTV update on the Amazon echo show 15. Without this change/update no chance for me to sideload apks. Funny is before the update the firmware is V7.5.5.5 and after firetv installation it is V7.5.0.1. Don't ask me why. Maybe they drunk to much.
But it took me 20 min to find a workaround to sidekoade apks.
@Amazon_Devs: Stop reading here. DO NOT BLOCK this workaround, make the launcher selectable again and bring the same Dev functions like on...

The Amazon Echo Show runs Android and has several of the usual system components you'd expect from an Android device. Not sure how useful they'll be for modding purposes, but figured I'd post what I've found so far.
Here are instructions for enabling Developer Options:

Here are instructions for entering Fastboot and Recovery Mode...

Good morning,
My echo plus is blocked (blue light ring). I think it's because of an update. A lot of people had the same problem. Is it possible to force the new update with my computer and where I can find the file to do this?
Thanks in advance for your answers ..read more

So people, all people in this thread know that all echo's run android( oook fireos) and creating a cfw would be trivial because of what I've discovered:
If you search amazon source code on google, you can see a page that provides kernel, vendor etc for amaozn echo's.
WHAT IT also provides is verity keys!!!!!
so even though bootloader cant be unlocked, why cant we build a rom that uses verified boot from these keys to create cfw?
Share your thoughts.
