Looking to buy a new drone for around $300. The Fimi 3 mini is a new release. It has 4K and night vision. DJI is only 2.7K. Batteries for the Fimi are double the price of the DJI. My expectation is that hitting Pause on the RC-2 controller would, as on my Avata 2, put the craft into a hover mode where it is 100% unresponsive to control input until the Pause button is pressed again - accompanied by some text announcing that state. What seems tb happening is that it briefly goes into an unresponsive state with no accompanying dialog, but soon spontaneously resumes responding to control input. I have a DJI Mavic Air 2 and I am kind of annoyed at having to put a phone into it, the plugs wont fit with some phone cases, DJI stopped supporting the app etc. Are there alternative controllers I can use with it ? I am planning a family road trip involve loop trip between LasVegas and LA. I understand no drone flying is allowed national park and airport nearby area, but what about other places ? So far I found: Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near LV is particularly allow drone flying, bulk part of C-highway 1 from Santa babara to LA (far before LAX airport) should be ok.
