I thinking about how to make the runners. I take 3/4 white vinyl exterior trim board. I had a scrap piece about 3 ft. long by 2 1/2 wide. I ripped the piece to 2 inches the cutoff is 3/8. So the cutoff piece is 3 ft. by 3/4 by 3/8. That is what you want for your miter slot. So since the blade is 1/8 the cutoff piece is 3/8 instead of 1/2 ..read more

It is a fixed and plunge base kit in reasonable condition. $150. I read over at WOOD magazine that it had built in depth adjustment from above the table. Does this mean a lift is not needed at all ..read more

Got this blade recently. It was on sale at Amazon and I think is the best value in a dedicated ripping blade. I used to work as a sawyer in a mill and all our blades used the Flat Tooth Grind pattern. I have two big piles of chainsaw milled pine, birch, tamarack, cedar and aspen that I plan to use this blade on. i like the fact that it has a nonstick coating that is not red. Have not used it yet but other people tell me I can expect great things...

Hi
May I ask how the brushless tools are performing now after a couple of years in the market? Are they as maintainence free as the manufacturers say? Are they packing a better performance for the same size motor?
Thanking you

Does anyone have a Hitachi combination joiner Planer model F-1000a that they are still using and could use a few parts for?
I bought mine new, and it is still in great working order. I replaced both the planer and the jointer and switched to helix blades very recently. Consequently, I have the old shafts that hold the blades, extra jointer blades, extra Planer blades, all the bolts that hold them on and the washers.
So, if you can put this stuff to use, I’ll be happy to sell it at an...

A question for the forum and responses are welcomed.
My plans:
I recently bought an old shaper for the cast iron table and the awesome old school fence.
Not interested in the shaper as a shaper. I am thinking about machining out a pocket for the router lift plate to be installed.
This would make (my idea) a great router table.
Does anyone have any experienced in doing same? Or am I out of the ballpark on this idea?
Thanks in advance ..read more

Found a Scandinavian/Tage Frid style workbench on Kjiji last year for $300. I thought it was a steal, my wife not so much. The kid who inherited it had been using it for small engine repair. He guesses that it is 75 to 100 years old. His great grandfather made it when he emmigrated from Denmark. The age and abuse showed but I had recently been to our local wood supplier looking for bench materials and realized that the top alone was worth at least 300. It is made from 3 hard maple boards...
