Hello Friends! Today is the rest of the bunch for the Jays Donruss/Leaf/Panini/Whatever needs..    Stands to reason that the only one of the Hometown Heroes set I'd need is the short print.. I think this is from the Best of the AL set These are from the 1988 Donruss All Stars. The only other ones I need are Oakland Coliseum and Tim Wallach I have the 1988 Leaf set, but I need these for the team binder.  I have the Donruss 86 taken care of, but not the Leaf I kind of like the Leaf sets from this time. I bel ..read more

Hello Friends! Last post was about the cards I need for the 1981 Jays team set for Donruss...  Today will show the ones needed from the Donruss sets from 1983-1986. My 1982 team set is done.  The 1983s..  Can I just say... This DK design is gorgeous..  The 1984 set is a nice one to look at.  1985 was the first year the Canadian market got the Leaf set where it paralleled but not fully, the Donruss set.  The only one I need from 1986 is this Cerutti The Rookies card. The base is complete.    ..read more

Hello Friends! I know I've been a little sporadic with posting on this account lately. I apologize. I've been dealing with some issues still, but I'm getting a little better. I have been posting on my personal blog, In My Own Words. But anyway. I've started my organization again finally.. I'm working on my Donruss Jays Binder. I'm done 1981 right now.  I have most of the team set, but am missing a few.. These are the cards I'm missing:  I'm probably going to take a look on Sportlots at the end of the month when I get some money again, but if I'm able to work out a tr ..read more

Peterborough Whitecaps

Hello Friends! I can't recall if I mentioned this on here, but while going through Baseball Reference and Canadian cities that hosted a minor league team, two cities stuck out to me.. Peterborough, and Port Arthur Ontario. Peterborough, dear reader, is my current home. Port Arthur, post 1970, has been one half of the city of Thunder Bay.  Both cities hosted minor league baseball in the 1910s.  I looked into the Peterborough team. It was known as the Whitecaps for two seasons and the Petes for one.  I've hit a dead end on information regarding the team itself aside from a s ..read more

Opening Day and the Jays

Hello Friends! Yesterday was Opening Dy across baseball and today I was pondering. After realizing the 2016 Cubs win was the first time the Cubs won in Wrigley, I started thinking about Opening Day win/loss records and Home Opener Win/Loss records..  Specifically for the Toronto Blue Jays. So.. I decided to look into it. After a quite messy method, I got my answers. Of course, to log the Opening Day record, we have to go back to the first Opening Day for the Jays. 1977. April 7 had a nice blizzard blow in before the game, but the team was determined to have the game played. I'm s ..read more

Hello Friends! Yes, I know I'm very late to the party of talking about 2024 Topps. I didn't want to say anything until I had some in my grubby little paws..  Thanks to Cardsoncards, AKA Kerry, I have some 2024 Topps now.  It started out him having some cards he wanted to get rid of, and mentioned Tyler O'Neill. Well, being a collector of Canadian born players, I jumped at the chance to widen my collection of his considerably. It also came at a time where I'm dreading the task of going through my collection to ensure what it says I have on TCDB is actually in my collection. I a ..read more

Delorimier Stadium Custom

Hello Friends! Today I'm back with another custom card I made up. Ultimately, I'm looking at this ending up being a set of stadium cards Today, as the title mentions, it's Delorimier Stadium that was in Montreal, Quebec.  So, before the Expos were in Montreal, the city had minor league teams called the Royals dating back to 1897. Starting in the Eastern League (Not the same one as current) the Royals followed along as the League changed names in 1912 to the International League. It was a Double A league until 1945 when it became the current version, Triple A.. From 1928 to 1960, the ..read more

Hello Friends! Tonight I want to share with you another version of the Jarry Park custom I've been working on.  A couple things I didn't like about the first one was the way the logo looked. The other thing I didn't like was the lettering on the bottom.  So I tried another version..  I may touch it up again, depending on how I feel..  So.. Drumroll please.. *drum roll*  *watches the drum roll down the hallway, hopes nobody gets in the way.. hears it bounce down the stairs... *  *ahem...* I think this version looks so much better.. About the only thing I migh ..read more

Jarry Park has a Back
Not Another Baseball Card Blog

Hello Friends! Last post was the front of the card I made for Jarry Park. I may play with it more to improve it some..  But today I created a back for it.  I'm actually pretty happy about how this turned out.. I think the only thing I don't like is not having that much under the line.  I will admit, I borrowed the template from this card: I think if I was using more robust software, I could add things like year by year record and maybe smaller font size.. Though I think some of my friends and fellow collectors may like the font they don't need a magnifying glass for ..read more
