I've owned and reviewed a lot of different G-Shock Casioak watches. They look stylish yet are affordable, are thin and lightweight, and Casio keeps adding interesting new variants. When the brand released its new Hidden Glow collection earlier this month, I was excited to see reference GA2100HD-8A combine two things I love. The G-Shock Casioak and a lume dial! The Casiglowk? For an intro to the Casio G-Shock GA2100 line and why it is referred to as the Casioak, I recommend reading my original review here. I've also reviewed a few other colors, as well as metal, m ..read more

Like StrapHabit, Casio is selling pink products with a goal of raising $20,000 for breast cancer. While we are promoting our Brodinkee x StrapHabit MWP straps G-Shock debuted two pink themed "Casioak. watches. The GMAS2100P-4A shown here in the smaller case size as well as the full size black with pink accents GA2100P-1A. When I recently visited the Windup Watch Fair and saw this model in person, I decided to support Casio and bring home a gift for my wife (that I might also want to steal occasionally). The Casioaks that I've gotten for her have been her favorite watches, and t ..read more

Casio G-Shock Midnight Fog Brown Metal Casioak Watch Review (GM2100MF-5AER)

In my recent review of the "Grape Jelly" Casioak, I tried to make the case that my wife is a bigger fan of these models than I am. I thought that I was done buying these watches for myself for a while and that I would hold off until Casio releases my dream version. I didn't think that I was interested in any of the other existing models, especially not this strange brownish-copperish metal Casioak that the brand released as part of its "Midnight Fog" collection. Then I saw one in the metal at Windup Watch fair. As often happens, the press photos don't do this model justice. A co ..read more

Can You Swap Modules Between a Resin and Metal Casioak? - My Attempt to Make a Metal Solar Bluetooth Casioak

In my recent review of the new yellow Solar and Bluetooth "Casioak" (officially the Casio G-Shock GAB2100C-9A), I said that it was nearly my perfect spec G-Shock, but that it lacked the high-end feel of my blue metal GM2100N-2A. I expect at some point that Casio will expand the solar and Bluetooth capability to have metal cases, but I became impatient. Because the metal and resin Casioaks both used the same module number, I made the assumption that I could purchase a blue GAB2100-2A, and that its module would be a direct swap into my blue metal Casioak. This would give me the functionality t ..read more

The Casioak Goes Solar and Bluetooth! Has Casio Made My Dream G-Shock? GAB2100C-9A Watch Review

When I originally reviewed the Casio G-Shock GA2110SU-3A (a.k.a. the Casioak), I said "to make this my perfect G-Shock, it would have solar charging, and atomic clock sync" but I was worried that adding those features would make the watch thicker and heavier. Well, my prayers have been answered - sort of! The latest Casioak models do have solar charging, although instead of atomic sync, they have Bluetooth connectivity. Has this made it the perfect G-shock? Keep reading to find out! Similarities to the original resin models I've done Casioak comparisons of as many models as I have ..read more

I'm not in the minority of watch hobbyists in saying that I really like the  "Casioak." Regular readers of the blog will have noticed that I've now covered a number of different models and sizes in a variety of colorways. I even gave one away to one of our readers last year! One of my initial takeaways from the first green Casioak that I reviewed, was that I loved the look and the dimensions, but I wished that G-Shock would bring it upmarket. Well, the brand hasn't released the solar atomic version that I wished for (yet), but it has released a number of metal versions that bring th ..read more

Original vs. Midsize "Casioak" Watches: Is the GMAS Only For Women? - Casio G-Shock GAMAS2100 vs. GA2100

It's been over a year since I originally reviewed the Casio G-Shock GA2110SU (also known within watch collecting circles as the "Casioak"). Since then, Casio has continued to release new colorways of the watch including the gray color that I reviewed. I would have thought by now that supply would have caught up with demand, but many of the colors are still often sold out (the watches shown were obtained through diligent searching, and signing up for multiple email waiting lists). The Casioak is actually so popular, that fakes are being produced now. I have first hand exper ..read more

Hands-on with the new gray Casioak, plus the all red and updates on the market. Casio G-Shock GA2110ET-8A Mini Review

If you read my recent review of the Casioak, you'll know that it's one of the hottest watch releases of recent years. At the time, I predicted that they would become more available, and come down in price. Well, I was wrong. They are still sold out, and are still selling for over retail price in the secondary market (other than the red GA2100-4A, which is available from most sites at MSRP). To keep the momentum going, Casio has released two new colors of the Casioak under the "Earth Tone" series. A light gray (GA2110ET-8A), and navy blue (GA2110ET-2A) shown below.   As with my green "Util ..read more

GA2110SU-3A. Just call it the green Casioak. If you inhale watch blogs like I do, you’re probably familiar with the “Casioak.” And if you’re a G-Shock fan like I am, chances are that you’ve tried (and failed) to buy one. Well watch fans, I managed to get my hands on the green “Utility Color” edition, and I’ve been wearing it for almost two months now. Keep reading and I’ll answer all of your questions. Update: Since originally posting this article, I've reviewed additional versions including the metal ones. Click here to see those reviews. What is it? If you haven’t heard of i ..read more
